I live in Central Jersey and there are lot of ghosts around here by the D & R canal. There were a lot of red coats tortured and killed by troops here during the Rev War.
In one historical house if you go down to the basement you can still see the shackle marks where they tied up the red coats. Some of the red coats tried to escape by digging a hole through the basement wall and under the canal but they were unsuccessful.
They say that you can here the drum role down there and here boots coming up the basement stairs but when the caretakers open the door it all stops.
There is also The Meadows, an old house built in the mid 1600's by a well known family of this area and for years and years the caretakers would see apparitions in the front woods. Then finally in the '80s they widened the road the house was off of and when they started the road work they uncovered an unknown family cemetary. No one knows what happed to the family because there were no historical documents but they all died within close proximity of eachother...people from ages 70 to 2 years old.
There is even a picture displayed in the house (which is now a historical sight open to the public several times a year) of a little girl in the house dressed in 17th centurty clothing and she is standing next to the fireplace. The pic was taken in the 1960's and you can see right thru her. She's a ghost.
Jersey probably one of the most haunted places in the country, we also have the most shipwrecks off our coast, close to 1000 I think. Its pretty creepy.
I hear Gettysburg is littered with Civil War ghosts.
The beach I usually go to is IBSP. I can buy my little NJ State park pass every year and drive right thru. it is clean and very family friendly. And although they aren't the cleaniest (those fly strips are horrifying!) they do have showers and changing stalls.
My favorite beach is Pt. Pleasant tho. My grandparents met there and my nona had a beach house there for years growing up I spent down there.
my best friend is currently doing that...my views are that i am a little gaurded. I don't want her to get her hopes up that he is a changed man and then he gets out and breaks her heart.
but i do also believe ppl can change esp if they look to God...only time would tell.
What about when someone contacts you that your not interested in...how do you let someone down easily if they aren't your cup of tea? i feel bad i don't want to hurt anyones feelings or make them feel like their is something wrong with them.
I definitly do not want them to think I am mean, shallow or snobby.
so i usually just ignore them but then that ISN'T nice at all either.
what do you guys do when someone flirts or contacts you and they aren't your type or you just don't think they are attractive or whatever the reason is??
well i am no one to talk, tho i'm charismatic/born again, i wuz raised roman catholic and i still have a penchant for Taro and Palm Reading, must be my wicked sicilian gypsy blood lol
shhh don't tell the other bible thumpers tho!!! j/k
PS: the scary thing is...the people who hate you or dislike you because you're an atheist probably also hate jews, muslims, buddhists, hindis, sikhs (probably the MOST peaceful people in the world),
yea lets not forget the blacks, spics (like me), mulattos, chinos...
Everytime I tell the story how my son at about 3 1/2 was shocked to find out that "LMNOP" wasn't its own letter in the alphabet, they were 5 separate letters.
Oh come on that is really hard...how can you pick just one!!!???
I have tons!!!
L-O-V-E by nat king cole
Fly me to the moon by Sinatra
All I Need by Meth and Mary
Institutionalized by Suicidal Tendencies
ANY Sade song
Lots of Enya songs
O Holy Night & Ava Maria
If I ruled the World by Nas
oh please let me stop before I make you all lol
ok but here is one of my favorites:
Jesus Lover of My Soul (Its All About You) by Passion
It's all about You, Jesus And all this is for You For Your glory and your fame It's not about me As if You should do things my way You alone are God And I surrender to your ways
Jesus, lover of my soul All consuming fire is in Your gaze Jesus, I want you to know I will follow you all my days For no one else in history is like you And history itself belongs to you Alpha and Omega, You have loved me And I will share eternity with You
I can understand thinking that but they could also be from a family of alcholics and do not want to even try drinking because it is like playing russian roulette. you never know if you get that "addiction gene" so why try.
RE: Does anyone beleive in ghosts or ever lived in a haunted house?....just wondering!!!!
