Cherokee...you said it yourself...extremists. ALL Muslims aren't extremists...only a fraction of the hundreds of millions are. Really, I can understand your fear, but they are in reality good, gentle people.
I see your point Cherokee, but in general, Muslim women are treated very well. Remember, it's their culture versus ours. I've met some lovely Muslims...good people. But you are right to suggest some practices of certain hard-line Muslims do seem a little extreme.
Great question. My answer would be generally, yes. You can learn just a little more about the personality behind the image...and how they treat other people. Important considerations.
