You could be on to something there.....might have to have a think about that. Bit of music blasting on the ipod while working away ...could be fun. I'd get all of two minutes into it before the kids are calling me for something though!!
Painting is good. Something else I used to do a long time ago. Though I was more of a writer. Wrote a couple of half-arsed 'novels' about 12 years ago then gave up on them.....might be worth digging them out and having a go again maybe.
Archery would be great, tried that once and loved it. Also did a bit of horseriding before. I reckon these are all probably 'expensive' passtimes though. I suppose they all are really, once you step outside the home.
Bellydancing - think I'll pass on that one though! Would not be a pretty sight!!!!:)
So just wondering what everyone's 'thing' for filling in their spare time is. (Apart from posting here that is!) I have a fairly busy life with working nearly full time and bringing up a gang of kids near single-handedly (have an au pair helping out at the mo but shes gone at end of the month then its back to just me) and Ive noticed that since my ex left Ive lost touch with most of my friends and dropped any hobbies I ever had due to lack of time. Which is annoying me lately as I feel like I have nothing in my life that is just for me. Would like to pick up a new hobby or interest but dont really know what would suit! All I do at the moment is watch movies and read books, and then hang out with the kids and stuff......its not helping me meet people either. I joined this thing a few months back to try that but honestly I dont even have the time for this either ( I do browse it every so often but never feel I have much to add to the conversations going on - I'm amazed how you all keep the banter going so regularly!!) So Im just wondering, out of curiousity, what kind of stuff people do? Im not mad into sports to be honest, not the competitive type, though I do like hill walking and orienteering and all that. Well, I used to years ago! Dont know how youd get into something like that now.... Probably wont help me much but might get some inspiration from you guys, you never know! Ta!
My bro got nominated for this and decided to have a bit of a laugh with it - had to post the link to his video here, he did a great job on it. Have a look for a laugh. Of course, now he's nominated me, so I'll have to have a go! Bah! :)
Wow Robin Williams death really hit me hard. Very very sad and depressing. I guess a lot of the actors we all grew up watching are getting old now so we will be hearing about more and more of their passings - but 63 is hardly old and for it to happen as a result of depression....very shocking and affecting. Poor guy.
I really love a good storm too. Thunder and lightning, lashing rain, the whole business. Nice to be tucked up safe inside and listen to it raging outside. As long as there are no loose roof slates!!
Yeah this does my head in as well. Theres no excuse for it, its just pure selfishness. If you park across the line, crookedly, clearly taking up 2 spaces, just take a few seconds to reposition your car properly. Cant understand the mentality of people who walk off leaving their car like that.
Home and Away! Whats that like these days.I used to love that back in the 90s! I did catch a few eps of it a few years back but it was so different, couldnt get on with it at all! I stick with episode of Prisoner Cell Block H for my Aussie soap fix these days. The whole lot of it is up on youtube, from episode 1. Started a few months ago and watch one every night. Great little guilty pleasure! Cult tv at its finest!
Ted is very funny. My brother has a Ted toy that says all those rude things when you press its hand. Have to keep it away from the kids though!!! Dont want them copying what he says!
Utterly stunned that I left my car in to Peugeot dealer to have an ABS issue looked at, and not only was it assessed and REPAIRED in 40 minutes, it only cost 55.00. Whhhaaaaaaat??? I had a Toyota before this, same ABS fault happened and it cost me two visits and nearly 400 quid.
Cremation here too I reckon. Though cremation can be fairly gnarly (80s word, showing my age). I've been to two cremations and what I wasnt prepared for the first time was that the bones dont get completely burnt to ash - there are rather large chunks left when it comes out of the crematorium, including large pieces of intact skull, which need to be further broken down. Yikes. What I wasnt prepared for the second time was how STRONG and resilient the bones of the 90 year old grandma who was cremated turned out to be. So many intact pieces to be broken up after the actual cremation. That's intense. (80s again, oops).
badboy A young man who has many characteristics of a naughty boy: he's independent and willful; he does what he wants when he wants; he doesn't follow trends, they follow him; he often looks scruffy, but hip; he's not looking for trouble, but there's a sense of danger about him. For these reasons and more, he's irresistible to women. He's a heartbreaker with five o'clock shadow.
Sounds pretty awesome if you ask me. I'd go for him, if I was a girl!
Daryl's a cool dude and the most complex and interesting character on the show. Would be a big loss if he went out. They shouldnt have killed off his brother, there was great potential for more interactions between the two, lots more they could have explored there. And Michael Rooker is a great actor so they should have kept him on.
Beth's okay, shes started to get a bit ballsier and more interesting. They are a bit lacking in interesting female characters to be honest. Maggie's a bore, Michonne is a bit too feral for my liking! Cant think of anyone else at the moment. They need some new women!
Cant wait for this season to start! Nothing else of interest on tv at the mo. I agree about Season 2 it was a draaaaaaaag but did pick up a good bit at the end. Season 3 was excellent and I enjoyed season 4 though thought the first half of season 4 was a bit of a waste - should have just finished up the prison/governor stuff at the end of 3. But it got really good again when they left the prison. I think what I like most about this show is nobody is safe. Every season, main characters die who you really dont expect to die. And they are always affecting. Well, as long as they dont kill off Daryl!
Hobbies etc
