I agree....I don't know that Bush and his men had any direct involvement in the mortgage crisis. It is the war he is responsible for. I only mentioned it because there is a theme running here sometimes that the US economy is fine and everything would be ok if it was left alone and there was no immigration and the US cut itself off from other world problems.....my point was that it isnt that simple. The US exports its economic problems even more than it imports other people's woes.

I think that most of that is pretty fair. I wouldn't be so optimistic about the economy though. Most of the world is suffering the credit backlash and the falling markets that follow the US mortgage debt fiasco. An economy built on dodgy loans that endanger bank credibility is not sound. Also I reckon the election of moderate/conservative leaders in other countries is largely due to local factors - most voters in these countries blame Bush and company for the "world threat" if it exists in those terms.
Never having seen Bill OReilly or Olberman I don't know what they are like but the idea of even calling CNN the Communist News Network is hilarious.....what makes them communist? or even liberal? I thought they were just another big business mainstream network....do you have to be Fox to avoid being communist? Wow!
