I guess some people can fall in love via the computer. Me personally need to have a closer more "real" relationship. Yes there are people I talk to and flirt with. If it forms into something else and either one of us are able to relocate, fine. But to just have an online relationship without the day to day interaction is not for me.
It's the same old story All love and glory It's a pantomime If you're looking for love In a looking glass world It's pretty hard to find Oh, mother of pearl I wouldn't trade you For another girl
Online love is available, yes. Granted, a great many pranksters & con artists take advantage of the anonymous nature of online dating, but still, there are real people with real feelings online. It's simply a bigger version on the town square... without as much shopping for wares & snack vendors. We have our hangouts & social groups, likes & dislikes... all in all, we're still hoping to run into someone we get along well with. If a few rambunctious kids with nothing to do swing by, we'll do our best to be rid of them. Someone is always in middle of some drama & a smile is typically very easily found. In the end, some of us will find our mates & some will not. We can only try... and wish each other well, in the process.
Im looking for love., but I dont expect to fall in love on line. I need to meet the person first and spend some time with them before I can believe Im in love. For me its a means to an end. internet is just a stepping stone to find that true love, but not the end all. That final "fall in love" will be when Im face to face with her, not falling in love with a pretty picture and words on a screen..

Or is it just people hitting a keyboard and having a laugh and a joke and then moving on to new pastures for another conversation somewhere else.
