Don't sweat it RQ. He and the other old crusty never really acknowledge counter-argument at all. To do so would meant they would have to have something constructive to say or to open their minds to minor failings in their political religion. Mock and sni**er is all they are good for. Dude suits them as an opponent as he always uses a sledgehammer. Even then they just laugh at him without engaging in real debate.
He hasn't apologised for much....he has admitted that some things could have been done better....an understatement if ever there was one!
He has also been respectful to his allies and has acknowledged that to get anywhere with opponents you have to talk to them. Hardly radical stuff....but if you think the answer to everything is a missile strike then maybe it is much too much niceness for you!
I wouldn't blame them personally....I think a whole political movement/party has been built in the States based on sociopathic tendencies. Anti-intellectual, anti-tax, anti-state, anti-welfare and anti-foreigner....anti-everything. This has been going on a long time and was deliberately created as a political strategy. Sadly most of these people don't see that they have been manipulated into these "sociopathic" views and regard themselves as normal!
What on earth makes you think that the world "feared" Bush? He just had no respect across the globe and for good reason. Obama has to prove he is different. Early days, but showing respect for the rest of the world is a good start and undermines the cheap rhetoric of Iran and other anti-US elements. Yet again the delusional idea in the US that your power comes from guns!!
