When you say "get the message" do you mean that in a democratic society he should not rely on the rule of law but should assume that vigilante killers have free rein?
No it doesn't make you a whack job - there are lots who are though. I think the circumstances suggest it was a killing because of his views. Killing someone in church is pretty bad though! I think this doc had been persecuted and threatened for years.
