I doubt it, but it is fair to remember those who serve on your behalf and those who die in the service of your country. However, they also have to remember that outside of their country another view may be taken of the same military campaigns! And they should not be surprised when others feel differently and less inclined to celebrate their fights!
And Americans have done good too. But the issue for most countries about "memorial day" is that it is nothing to do with us. We have our own days - probably less militaristic in some countries or more militaristic in others - but Memorial Day is an American thing and applies only to them.
