RE: Moses

A better question is why believe in the story of Moses or god?

Why would anyone believe in a god?

I would submit rational thought is no more evidence of got than the tale of 3 little pigs is evidence of the big bad wolf. I have searched many years for evidence of any god and yet have seen none. I have heard many claims but nothing of evidence.

RE: scientology

Its a religion created by a conman who bragged that he would get rich by creating his own religion. Kind of like Mormonism which was also created by a known, convicted conman.

Why would anyone believe in a god?

Okay that's one I haven't heard. Doing a bit of research I have found no such evidence, only biblical claims. Even records that were staunchly maintained of that era make no mention. So please provide your evidence. Thanks

Why would anyone believe in a god?

Because those of faith often seek to enforce their belief on children, legislate morality and so on. I have the religious knocking at my door often trying to secure new followers. So pull your head out man.

Why would anyone believe in a god?

I can answer I don't know and its still no reason to assume god did it.....

Why would anyone believe in a god?

For me, lacking evidence should equal disbelief. Disbelief in existence of something you have no evidence for is rational. The opposite is irrational. So I will never accept the existence of a god without evidence. And I could never worship something so evil as the Christian god.

Why would anyone believe in a god?

Actually the vast majority of scientist are atheist. Your position is flawed.

Why would anyone believe in a god?

I don't personally but many do as a tradition. No god necessary for a tradition.

Why would anyone believe in a god?

I thought I gave my reason for none belief. But, lack of evidence is a big one and then the evidence available that points to natural processes. And then there is the "evil" or I should say horrible things in the bible condoned and often ordered by the god of Abraham...

Why would anyone believe in a god?

You make lots of assertions but I don't see anything backing you up. For instance your reference to a spirit. Could you offer evidence that such a thing exist?

Why would anyone believe in a god?

Absolutely untrue, the more educated and up to date as you put it the more likely you are to be atheist.

The reason I don't believe is because there is no evidence for a god. Given peer reviewed evidence I would believe but certainly would not worship the god of Abraham. I could not worship such an immoral being.

Why would anyone believe in a god?

If you say so....doh

Why would anyone believe in a god?

Its an honest question, I was once a believer because I was indoctrinated as a child. But as a rational adult I have found no reason to believe in a god. I searched for evidence and found that all evidence points to natural processes and contradicts the bible. I researched other religions and found they held no more truth than Christianity.

I understand that faith is the basis for belief in a deity. While faith is belief without evidence which to me means gullibility. I don't intend to offend but this is how it appears to me.

A definition of what I mean by evidence.
