Has The Alta-Right Trump Train Come To A Halt?

Trump’s base turns on him
Steve Bannon’s downgrade is just one of many complaints. ‘We expect him to keep his word, and right now he’s not keeping his word,’ says one campaign supporter.

The swiftness and abruptness of Trump’s shift from bomb-throwing populist outsider to a more mainstream brand of Republican has taken the president’s stalwarts by surprise.

Donald Trump’s true believers are losing the faith.

As Trump struggles to keep his campaign promises and flirts with political moderation, his most steadfast supporters — from veteran advisers to anti-immigration activists to the volunteers who dropped their jobs to help elect him — are increasingly dismayed by the direction of his presidency.

Their complaints range from Trump’s embrace of an interventionist foreign policy to his less hawkish tone on China to, most recently, his marginalization of his nationalist chief strategist, Steve Bannon. But the crux of their disillusionment, interviews with nearly two dozen Trump loyalists reveal, is a belief that Trump the candidate bears little resemblance to Trump the president. He’s failing, in their view, to deliver on his promise of a transformative “America First” agenda driven by hard-edged populism.

"Donald Trump dropped an emotional anchor. He captured how Americans feel," said Tania Vojvodic, a fervent Trump supporter who founded one of his first campaign volunteer networks. "We expect him to keep his word, and right now he's not keeping his word."

Earlier this week, Vojvodic launched a Facebook group called, “The concerned support base of President Trump,” which quickly drew several dozen sign-ups. She also changed the banner on her Facebook page to a picture of Bannon accompanied by the declaration: “Mr. President: I stand with Steve Bannon.”

"I'm not so infatuated with Trump that I can't see the facts," she said. "People's belief, their trust in him, it’s declining."

The swiftness and abruptness of Trump’s shift from bomb-throwing populist outsider to a more mainstream brand of Republican has taken the president’s stalwarts by surprise.
“It was like, here’s the chance to do something different. And that’s why people’s hopes are dashed,” said Lee Stranahan, who, as a former writer at Breitbart News, once worked with Bannon. “There was always the question of, ‘Did he really believe this stuff?’ Apparently, the answer is, ‘Not as much as you’d like.’”

The White House did not respond to a request for comment.

The deflation of Trump’s base threatens to further weaken a president who’s already seen his public support drop to historic lows. Frustration among the president’s allies has intensified in recent days, with many expressing worry that Bannon, the intellectual pillar of the nationalist movement that catapulted Trump to the presidency, is being pushed out.

Worries deepen about Trump's military tilt
Trump boasted after Thursday's air strike in Afghanistan that he has given the military ’total authorization.’
By BRYAN BENDER 04/13/17 08:13 PM EDT

President Donald Trump on Thursday praised the decision to drop a massive bunker-busting bomb in Afghanistan as an example of the “total authorization” he has given his military commanders.

But such boasts only deepen defense experts' concerns that Trump is ceding the military too much influence over the United States' actions abroad — creating the danger of an unbalanced policy that gives short shrift to interests like diplomacy.

Trump, who faced early criticism for relying on retired generals to fill key Cabinet posts, has placed career military men in the two main civilian posts that shape national security policy: Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, a retired Marine general, and National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, an Army lieutenant general. At the same time, he has failed to fill most of the other top civilian posts that provide a major check on military prerogatives.

Trump has also allowed military commanders to wield more authority on troop deployments and other actions, most notably in Syria — in contrast to the Obama administration's reputation for micromanaging even the smallest details of national security. But Trump declined to say whether he had let them make the call in Thursday's bombing, which used the Air Force's 21,000-pound “mother of all bombs” to attack a cave network used by the Islamic State.

Asked whether he had authorized use of the bomb, never before been used in combat, Trump told reporters that "everybody knows exactly what happened."

Horse & Gator Fight: Oooppps!... Guess who won??

A seemingly unprovoked horse attacking an alligator near Gainesville, Florida was captured in footage originally shared by Krystal Berry on Wednesday
Berry and friends were returning to their cars from the La Chua Trail at Paynes Praire when they first noticed a team of horses grazing
They noticed the alligator second, who was lying still in the grass near the horses
A few moments later, the closest horse moved towards the gator and stomped on it as it lay there; the gator bit back at the horse once on camera

Some of Trump’s biggest supporters are furious about his strikes in Syria
Updated by Jeff Stein Apr 6, 2017, 11:55pm EDT - VOX.com

President Donald Trump, on the campaign trail, was firmly against intervening in Syria. Even before he ran for president, he demanded that President Barack Obama not send troops into Syria and argued for not using military force against Bashar al-Assad. America, he argued, had wasted valuable blood and treasure abroad and needed to spend more time nation building at home:

Some of Trump's alta right supporter's tweets:
Donald J. Trump ? @realDonaldTrump

We should stop talking, stay out of Syria and other countries that hate us, rebuild our own country and make it strong and great again-USA!
12:29 AM - 13 Sep 2013

So after Trump ordered military strikes against a Syrian airfield on Thursday night, at least some of his most vocal supporters say they feel betrayed. Almost immediately following reports of the Syrian airstrikes, prominent right-wing news outlets and media personalities most closely associated with the self-described alt-right and Trumpism more generally attacked the president’s foreign intervention — which appears to fly against so much of the rhetoric from his campaign.

Among them were Paul Joseph Watson, who contributes to the far-right conspiracy site Infowars; Mike Cernovich, the professed self-improvement guru who’s drawn a massive social media following in part by praising Trump; radio host Laura Ingraham, formerly of Fox News; and Ann Coulter, the author and provocateur. All four quickly denounced the attacks as a reversal of Trump’s campaign promises:

North Korean Could Be Next On Trump's List: Next Time NUKE 'em...

I suppose you would not be surprised in your finite thinking process... sympathetic toward Korea?... so where did you get this information from?...TRUMP?!!! this is your unfounded imaginary thoughts. WHO TOLD YOU I was sympathetic toward North Korea or any of the others? One thing I will tell you, I am not afraid of A NUKE WAR, BECAUSE I AM NOT AFRAID OF THREATS OR DYING! dunno confused

No, Trump is trying to be a serious, furious BULLY, but he has met his match another serious, furious bully who is not afraid of him. Sorry you nor can Trump handle the truth of this fact. You're so use to hearing and believing alternative facts the truth seems to fail you.

Trump is the one who setup the reality of this threat against America, not Syria, Russia, ISIS, North Korea, Iran or any of the others cold war nations, cold war is always better than a hot war... TRUMP started this mess, now he has no way out. As I've stated, he only has two choices to fight or take flight. It was Trump's MOUTH and HIS PRIDE, ARROGANCE, GREED, AND BULLISH UNCONTROLLABLE BEHAVIOR. He drew the red line and they are all sitting back waiting to see if his red line is where his big mouth is... Trump has made his own warbed, so now he must lie in it by himself... whether with nukes or bullets from troops on the ground, which he dare not do although there is rambling about putting troops on the ground, which is another assbackward foolish mistake to even talk about it against these nations of thugs.

If Trump was in the right I would stand behind him 100000%, but I don't stand behind liars who are only out for himself doing foolishness to impress himself and for cheers and high ratings from the public... do you get it?... comfort handshake Trump must learn the hard way and it will not be as he thinks/thoughts.

I knew you were up to some kind of craziness laugh ...just couldn't put it all together wine ... I know much about the characteristics of an eagle because in ministry the eagle is used a lot to symbolize the power of God, as well as we use the eagle to teach strength to people who are cast down or feeling hopeless. We encourage them to view themselves to be either of an eagle in character and mentality, and not have a chicken or pigeon mentality when overcoming adversities and to stop hanging around people who are going nowhere in life trying to pull them down. So yes, I guess you can say I know a lot about the character of the eagle as it relates to people and the kind of attitude we should have in our behavior in comparison. With such as the eagle it hard not have that same beautiful inside that flows outwardly as does the beauty of the eagle in making discerning choices.

Nevertheless, I must continue to be multi-task in my mind and post war games information until something happens, informing others who otherwise may not know what's going on. Its a true saying that people perish for (because of) a lack of knowledge professor

In fact, I took the time to look up Rev. CL Franklin's sermon The Eagle Stirred Her Nest... this is Aretha Franklin's father before he died years back.

North Korean Could Be Next On Trump's List: Next Time NUKE 'em...

North Korea State Media Warns Of Nuclear Strike If Provoked As U.S. Warships Approach
“Our revolutionary strong army is keenly watching every move by enemy elements.”

North Korean state media warned on Tuesday of a nuclear attack on the United States at any sign of American aggression as a U.S. Navy strike group steamed toward the western Pacific.

U.S. President Donald Trump, who has urged China to do more to rein in its impoverished neighbor, said in a Tweet that North Korea was “looking for trouble” and the United States would “solve the problem” with or without China’s help.

Tension has escalated sharply on the Korean peninsula, with talk of military action by the United States gaining traction following its strikes last week against Syria and amid concerns the reclusive North may soon conduct a sixth nuclear test.

North Korea’s official Rodong Sinmun newspaper said the country was prepared to respond to any aggression by the United States.

“Our revolutionary strong army is keenly watching every move by enemy elements with our nuclear sight focused on the U.S. invasionary bases not only in South Korea and the Pacific operation theater but also in the U.S. mainland,” it said.

South Korea’s acting President Hwang Kyo-ahn warned of “greater provocations” by North Korea and ordered the military to intensify monitoring and to ensure close communication with the United States.

“It is possible the North may wage greater provocations such as a nuclear test timed with various anniversaries including the Supreme People’s Assembly,” said Hwang, acting leader since former president Park Geun-hye was removed amid a graft scandal.

Trump said in a Tweet that a trade deal between China and the United States would be “far better for them if they solved the North Korea problem”.

“If China decides to help, that would be great,” he said. “If not, we will solve the problem without them!”

North Korean Could Be Next On Trump's List: Next Time NUKE 'em...

And China is only moving its troops to make a show to Trump since their PM visited with Trump last week or whenever... China doesn't want war either, but China knows it must also protect its people and its interest, although China is in cahoots with Rodrigo Duterte trying to take over the Philippines on the cool... South Korean is in the middle and will suffer millions if there is a war, Plus, China is North Korea’s biggest trade partner, so will China change their policy any time soon to suit Trump and HIS WARr? I doubt it.

Trump has started a big mess to benefit his own good, and can't figure out what to do... and anyone who says otherwise is a starnated-blind-fool! doh Trump says he's ready for war, yet the secretary of state speaks differently... North Korea, Syria, Russia, ISIS, and whoever else hates America and Trump will be in this war.... and Trump says he's ready??? what a total mess!

BREAKING NEWS! POSSIBLE WAR?... AND HE'S DEADLY SERIOUS

I think you may have the eagle confused with the vulture who is known for sticking his head into dead animals and eating the garbage of men regardless of the stench, there is a big difference between the two fowls of the air eating taste and habits. Whereas the vulture lives off of dead meat and garbage, the eagle only eats the finer things of the seas and land. banana

BTW, I don't know where you're trying to go with your comments, but one thing for sure there isn't much one can speak negatively against the eagle although the eagle is not above reproach when it come to eating dead meat, and will only eats dead meat in hard times if there is no choice, but the eagle does also make a choice as to what PARTS of the dead meat it will eat... the vulture doesn't care what it eats.

I suppose it can be said, that the eagle eats dead meat to keep the environment clear of pollution from dead things, and only in times of desperation for food will you find an eagle eating dead rotting meat, but in general, the eagle is not one known to hangs around dead things or has a habit of eating such. So make sure you know the difference between the vulture and the eagle... And know that the eagle IS NOT a vulture or a chicken or a pigeon, and there is no comparison when it come to the eagle. wine

North Korean Could Be Next On Trump's List: Next Time NUKE 'em...

So what do we have here? All because Trump FINALLY took notice of innocent children and people being killed by chemical gas that has also taken place times before and Trump never said a word or reacted emotionally. The destruction and killing of innocent children and people is the reason why they are fleeing Syria seeking refuge. What part of this does Trump not understand?

Trump's WAR is a political move as I've stated, to booster his popularity and accomplishments, closing out his 100 days in office...but its not working out as he had thought it would. He's all over the place and his administrative staff and cabinet is in chaos and incomplete, he has over 30 open positions/lead departments needed to assist him in the plannings of his war, that he has been trying to fill and should have been setup/filled AFTER HE WON the election and before he went into the WH... this is why many of his already staff are wearing three or four hats trying to fill these positions and are confused and inexperienced.... first time in US presidential history a president has come into office without having a sound administration, and starts a war with no plans even his own people understand...

Trump has gotten himself into something bigly that he has no idea about depending on old fat farts who are retired generals who didn't do anything when they were active duty, and feel they have another chance at wartime heroism they missed during their Korean and VietNam war years, who are suffering from shell-shock syndrome... Trump didn't plan on Putin and Assad reacting as they did , he thought Putin was on his side to get rid of Assad... now he is lost as to what to do ... how unorganized is this? One thing for sure Trump can't sweet talk and con his way out of this deal.. rolling on the floor laughing.. he has started this war therefore, he must make a choice to fight or take a flight doh...

Ever notice America's allies who say they will help Trump, are the same ones who sat back and watched but they never made a move when they too saw the same pictures Trump saw of the innocent children and people being gassed... why didn't they step forward and confront Assad with airstrikes?...isn't it funny how our allies never make the first move then when things go wrong they blame America for meddling and policing other nations...confused

RUSSIA AND AFGHANISTAN

In December 1979, in the midst of the Cold War, the Soviet 40th Army invaded Afghanistan in order to prop up the communist government of the People’s Democratic Party of Afghanistan (PDPA) against a growing insurgency. At the time, the United States had been making headway in the Middle East at Moscow’s expense, successfully courting Egypt, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and others. The Soviet Union feared the loss of its communist proxy in Afghanistan.
Thus, over the course of the 1980's, the Soviet Union poured in billions of dollars (US) into the war in Afghanistan, and at its peak, more than 100,000 Soviet soldiers were fighting in the country. However, the Afghan resistance (the mujahideen) was heavily supported by a wide variety of international actors, including the US, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, China, and Egypt. In the end, the mujahideen prevailed and the Soviet Army was forced to withdraw from Afghanistan in February 1989, having lost tens of thousands killed and wounded. Even after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Moscow continued to supply and arm the communist regime of Dr. Najibullah, but this was not enough, and Kabul fell to the mujahideen in 1992.

US AND AFGHANISTAN
Afghanistan War, international conflict in Afghanistan beginning in 2001 that was triggered by the September 11 attacks and consisted of three phases. The first phase—toppling the Taliban (the ultraconservative political and religious faction that ruled Afghanistan and provided sanctuary for al-Qaeda, perpetrators of the September 11 attacks)—was brief, lasting just two months. The second phase, from 2002 until 2008, was marked by a U.S. strategy of defeating the Taliban militarily and rebuilding core institutions of the Afghan state. The third phase, a turn to classic counterinsurgency doctrine, began in 2008 and accelerated with U.S. Pres. Barack Obama’s 2009 decision to temporarily increase the U.S. troop presence in Afghanistan. The larger force was used to implement a strategy of protecting the population from Taliban attacks and supporting efforts to reintegrate insurgents into Afghan society.

His wife Maria Levashova has told the Russian media how the 36-year-old was detained on a U.S. arrest warrant after police smashed their way into an apartment the family had rented in Barcelona.

Cyber security experts claim that computer programmer Levashov is also the real identity of Peter Severa, the designer of malware used in a number of high profile spam attacks including an online onslaught against a Vladimir Putin foe during the Russian election of 2012.

Spanish police handcuffed her husband and seized computers and electronic devices from the apartment which they were using while on holiday, she said.

Peter Carr, a spokesman for the U.S. Justice Department's criminal division, said: 'The U.S. case remains under seal, so we have no information to provide at this time.'

The alleged hacker's wife said the family, including the couple's four-year-old son, were in the apartment when the police came.

'They were saying something about a virus allegedly created by my husband - and that it was linked to Trump's victory,' she said.

'They did not allow us to call a lawyer.'

She said: 'I am just in shock and I don't know what to do.

'I only understand that if my husband is extradited to the USA, my son and I will never see him again.

'They will fake all they want and will never let him out.

'Pyotr was working with various start-ups in Russia and with some other business projects, I did not intervene. We have run an events agency.'

She claimed: 'My husband does not have enough knowledge to intervene in elections or computer networks of other countries.'

His detention was 'something irrational, a nightmare', she said.

When police arrived, she said: 'I woke up because somebody was pulling the door handle.

'I thought these were gangsters, because they closed the spy hole in the door.

'We could not see how many people were there. It was so frightening. I thought they would break the door and kill all of us here.

U.S. WARSHIPS REROUTED TOWARD KOREAN PENINSULA TO 'MAINTAIN READINESS'

Japanese PM Says Further North Korea Provocative Action Is Possible

American warships based in the Pacific were ordered to reroute toward the Korean Peninsula, days after North Korea tested another intermediate range missile. Last Wednesday, the North test-fired a missile from its eastern port of Sinpo that landed in the Sea of Japan.

The head of the U.S. Pacific Command, Adm. Harry B. Harris Jr. ordered the Carl Vinson aircraft carrier, its fighter jets and several other warships toward the peninsula in order to “maintain readiness” in the region, the command said in a statement. The fleet had been heading to Australia to undertake military exercises.

"The number one threat in the region continues to be North Korea, due to its reckless, irresponsible and destabilizing program of missile tests and pursuit of a nuclear weapons capability," U.S. Pacific Command spokesman Dave Benham said, according to the BBC.

The move comes shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump’s order to strike a Syrian air base on Thursday. He sent 59 Tomahawk missiles to bomb the base, which the U.S. claims was the source of a suspected chemical weapons attack Tuesday that killed more than 80 people.

In response to the attack made on Syria, North Korea said the attack was an "intolerable act of aggression against a sovereign state", and made it justified in “bolstering its own defenses.”

In a recent interview with the Financial Times, Trump said he was prepared to act in North Korea with or without China’s help.

Intelligence officials cited by The New York Times said the movements of the Carl Vinson aircraft carrier were intended to anticipate the birth of Kim Il Sung, the founder of North Korea, next Saturday. North Korea has a history of showing off its military powers during birthdays, parades, and other national days.
