In a nut shell our government is corrupt...robbing from the poor and disabled and allowing the rich to get richer. I've never (I suppose to my shame) held much interest in politics, but recent events show our government for what they are. I am saddened by the stress and worry they are putting on the disabled and elderly and even forcing fines on the homeless. Ian Duncan Smith reformed several benefits and that in itself caused many people hardship....to me he is no different than the rest of them.
Hi Crystal...remember me, was Essie in a former life...and when this place was buzzing, lol. Hope you are well...like you I drop in from time to time...
I remember my parents watching the Black & White Minstrals on a saturday night....my sister and I hated it, but we did enjoy the sweets that were our treats on a saturday night....
I'm not sure which tree to put up this year...I have an extra special artificial one that cost me a small fortune 6.5ft high,my moment of madness...and I have my gorgeous Bleached Drift Wood tree 3.5ft high.....decisions,decisons....
I'll be on my own too....I don't mind. I will still put my tree up with the lights..no other decorations though. I went to Bath last December to the christmas markets and loved the atmosphere there...the character of the place, the little sheds with their wares, the smell of the hot toddies and german foods....and that fabulous vintage carousel...it was kind of magical...
I do miss the hustle and bustle of the lead up to christmas, the shopping, cooking etc. The family coming around, sharing simple gifts...laughter,a few drinks, plenty of food, games with the children....I used to love it.
