RE: Class prejudice and Class envy in Dublin society

Yes there is widespread class snobbery and oppression rampant in Dublin.

Snobby D4 types with West Brit accents who send their kids to Gael scoils, or fee paying schools (keeps the riff raff out) have always looked down on salt of the earth working class people who would give their last schilling to a neighbour for a pint of Guinness for their sick father.

If you don't have "the accent" and "the address" those snobs look down on you.

NOW THAT'S APARTHEID. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There has always been a Burlington wall keeping the working class from social mobility to the middle classes.

Working class Dubs are made to feel ashamed of their accents by the establishment and are sneered at by their "betters" who think everyone from a working class background is called Anto or Damo or Tracey or Sharon.

It's time this Class Apartheid ended.

End Class Apartheid now. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: Irish Water - Will you pay the bills?

I don't think they are in fear of the banks, I think they and their political parties do very well from the banks.

One td who whose party wasn't even in power during the celtic tiger got loans from a bank that were soft loans. He did not have to repay capital just interest and if things didn't work out he could hand the keys of the house to the bank and suffer no loss. That's how politicians make money. What did banks do for tds that were in power?

From memory charlie hockey and gary fitsgerild got loans written off for them by banks despite being wealthier than people with small loans and visas who the banks go after.

I would be interested in knowing how much banks donated in the interests of democracy to the main political parties over the years.

I don't sell my greatness to anyone Molly, I give it free to the right woman and she usually appreciates it very much. wink

A balanced woman. thumbs up

I like a feisty woman but not a bossy one.

Maybe we are not so different after all.handshake

Who am I kidding? I like a woman who will hang on my every word and tell me how great I am (and I am great head banger ).

RE: Irish Water - Will you pay the bills?

We live in a democracy where the people we vote in lie to us and threaten us with fines and jail if we don't give them our money to squander and do as we are told.

They don't represent us, they look out for themselves. It's a charade.

RE: Tired of having no friends

That spanner is an ordinary size, it's just that he is vertically challenged so it looks big.

RE: Tired of having no friends

He is obviously an aircraft mechanic with a spanner that size, wearing his work outfit, it's just unlucky his face his covered, go easy on him.

You are right Molly. Some men get stuck with women for various reasons and might have to keep them in line to maintain any sort of order.

Me, I stay well away from women like that.

I would say it would be impossible to keep you in line. roll eyes

Thanks Freud. So are women supposed to want to sleep with their father and kill their mother? or is it only that men are supposed to want to sleep with their mother and kill their father? or are women supposed to want to sleep with their mother and kill their father also?

RE: Irish Water - Will you pay the bills?

The problem is that the money expenses pension money from being part of lots of committees and going on to boards and quangos when they leave means that they stop wanting to change things and want things to stay the way they are as they are making so much money out of it.

We need less money for politicians so they have to do the right thing to get reelected. They get so much money now it doesn't make any difference whether they get reelected; they are made for life by hanging in there for 5 years.

We also have so many people with an interest in voting for the two business parties while the poor don't vote or spread their vote over so many independents and small parties.

Women like yourself Anna want that mutual respect caring way but some women are attracted to men for their power and are only happy when those men show their power to them, even if means being boss over them. So for some women, treating them mean might keep them keen while treating them nice might keep them mean.

Treat them mean, keep them keen

You are right Anna, there are nice women around. It's just hard to meet them. Patience is the key. Same goes for women with men. thumbs up

This is the thing Bird1977, not all birds are nice, a lot aren't and they are the ones who need to be kept in line, otherwise they will end up treating their men like women and walking all over them.

You need a pair alright or women won't respect you. thumbs up

Treat them mean, keep them keen

You might look like that to a skanger alright. thumbs up

Treat them mean, keep them keen

That's one thing you women are always in the mood for and always seem to be able to do even if you have a headache. rolling on the floor laughing
