RE: Retirement....

Well put,money isn't everything

RE: Retirement....

Happy accidents are wonderful things{perhaps the result of advance planning.we might not remember but that doesn't mean we're unprepared]
As for "traditional retirement"at least here in the US,seems to be on the way out.The way things are going,a fixed income doesn't cut it.Unless you have some sort of active income, retirement is going to become harder and harder to achieve
As for me,I'll just keep inventing stuff and hope I hit a good one

RE: To get a girl you need a girl

I agree,is kind of a waste of time to pursue the taken.I have never understood why the "have a girl to get a girl" thing is,but there does seem to be something to it

RE: To get a girl you need a girl

I have had that same theory for some time now.Interesting to see it is a worldwide rather than a cultural phenomena.I always kind of thought it was an Americajavascript:emot('confused');

Poll:what do you find most baffeling about Americans

How is it you guys ALWAYS get to save the planet ? Why can,t it be a Bulgarian or Aborigine ?[/quote

We seem to be the only ones silly enough to spend that kind of money on a non productive resource

as for saving the world,as far as i can tell, the current war is being waged to save our economy.none of their other reasons make much sense

RE: Re-incarnation

I agree that wishful thinking is not really effective. It is also degrees removed from the power of focused, conscious, intent.mind over matter does exist and is a powerful force in the universe

Poll:what do you find most baffeling about Americans

Well put Conrad, that is what i believe also

Yes,as far as i know,Kennedy did have a relationship with Ms Monroe.was she killed for it?probably

as for the moon landing,i believe we did go.there does appear to be some funny business going on with some of the pictures and transcripts.i would guess it's more a case of they saw something the govt didn't want to talk about than the 5 or 6 missions were faked

RE: Re-incarnation

i have to agree, the "we create our own reality"thing is more literal than many realize

RE: Re-incarnation

some of us do benefit from the feedback that we get from our experiences[the only upside of getting older i can see]it makes some sense that those benefits could be cumulative [maby thats where common sense comes from]
Breeding also implies a degree of mindlessness, and i can see, looking at the world as it is,how you could come to that conclusion.we can only hope that awareness and those that do learn prevail

RE: Re-incarnation

I think school or training ground would be close. There are enough stories, that although they don't constitute scientific proof, make it hard to dismiss[and very interesting]
I really don't know much about multiple personality disorders, but I have never run across anything regarding more than one soul in a body

Poll:what do you find most baffeling about Americans

I live here [born and raised]and there are more than a few things about this culture and people I have trouble understanding.I would have to guess there are things about us that have you scratching your head and wondering what the hell are we thinking. What's your favorite unfathomable American thing?
Mine would be the large segment of our population that continue to buy and drive huge and unnecessary vehicles. With oil prices what they are why would someone buy a 3 ton vehicle[truck or suv] that might get 15 miles per gallon when they don't need a truck and spend most of their driving time alone

RE: Re-incarnation

It makes sense that if we are spiritual beings undergoing a physical experience,it would be against the laws of conservation of energy to assume we just go away[energy can not be destroyed, only transformed]if we are here to experience the endless possibilities[and associated lessons]of physicality,it could not possibly be done in one life time.if we are here to learn,it would make more sense that we are not expected to accomplish this in one short life
as for evidence, there are many stories available.the ones i found the most interesting are the stories of young children [in the 3 to 6 yr old range]who when asked who they were before, supplied answers.one i know of was covered by ABC news about a 5 yr old boy with a fascination with WW2 aircraft[and a knowledge of details far beyond what he had been exposed to]he was also frequented by nightmares of burning to death.his case was studied and it turned out he go all the details of a WW2 dogfight in the south pacific right, down to the unit insignia and the names of his fellow pilots.[one of which was still alive and verified the young boys story]
it has been awhile since i heard the story, but if you are interested,i can find the sources for you

RE: what really happens to somebodies soul after they die ? how long do souls last for & whats the point

that too!

RE: what really happens to somebodies soul after they die ? how long do souls last for & whats the point

I prefer science to mythology, although i guess it's easier to base your beliefs on a much translated, highly edited ,incomplete group of ancient texts than to do your own research and entertain the notion that there is much more to the story than is written on your version of the bible
Sleep if you will,I prefer awareness

RE: what really happens to somebodies soul after they die ? how long do souls last for & whats the point

It contains many of the papers and information associated with his research/Probably as close as you can get to proof or facts on this question

RE: what really happens to somebodies soul after they die ? how long do souls last for & whats the point

There is an awful lot of assumption here!If that was the case[the spirit sleeps while the body is dead]mediums would have no one to talk to,there would be no ghosts, the spirit world would be in disarray ect

RE: what really happens to somebodies soul after they die ? how long do souls last for & whats the point

The best research I know of in this field would be Dr.Gary Schwartz PhD univ arizona. He did a fascinating group of double and triple blind studies of several mediums, some with accuracy in the 80%+ range. He wrote" The Afterlife Experiments:Breakthrough scientific proof of life after death"as a result of this research. His website is drgaryschwartz.com
By Soul,I assume you are refering to consciousness .You might also check out Lynne McTaggart's book "The Field" which will give you a good overview of the research being done in this field.
There is a lot of good solid science being done on this. The more you know.the less there is to fear.
