isn't it weird how memories turn into memories of memories, like your not sure if they really happened. It's more like instead of remembering and seeing it through your eyes, it's like watching a movie or something. sort of surreal. or that could just be me.
Hi, nice to meet you, you'll have a lot of fun on here, there are many good people to interact with. I hope you find what your looking for. Welcome to CS.
I remember when i was young and went fishing at my grandparents. I had a snoopy fishing pole and was out on the dock. My brother came down and wanted to try it, i wouldn't let him, he was persistent and i finally allowed him to try it out. He proceeded to accidentally throw it into the water, i was heart broken. He vowed to get it back for me, eventually he grabbed a large branch (basically a small tree) and fished it out for me. I don't know why this memory comes up but it is a memory none the less. It was cold and i knew he would have jumped in and got it if he had to. He meant the world to me.
Thought i grasped the basic idea, the mythology or perhaps belief is a better word, of many cultures such as Native Americans that the earth rests upon a turtle, and the significance of the earth being held up by an elephant on a turtles back in Hindu culture, but i did in fact take a closer look and looking into. are you referring to the quote "A well-known scientist (some say it was Bertrand Russell) once gave a public lecture on astronomy. He described how the earth orbits around the sun and how the sun, in turn, orbits around the center of a vast collection of stars called our galaxy. At the end of the lecture, a little old lady at the back of the room got up and said: "What you have told us is rubbish. The world is really a flat plate supported on the back of a giant tortoise." The scientist gave a superior smile before replying, "What is the tortoise standing on?" "You're very clever, young man, very clever," said the old lady. "But it's turtles all the way down!""? or one of the many others i have found? they all talk about heavy ideas that make my weary brain hurt. Or am i on the wrong path?
