Childhood is what you spend the rest of your life trying to overcome. That's what momma always says. She says that beginnings are scary, endings are usually sad, but it's the middle that counts the most. Try to remember that when you find yourself at a new beginning. Just give hope a chance to float up. And it will...

Hope Floats

Are there really born losers and born winners?

I just wonder why some people fight so hard and never get anywhere.. and others seem to be so lucky all the time without any effort..

If you want to be sure, leave the broken mirror where it fell or broke for 7 hours.. then you can throw it away and you won't have 7 years bad luck.. :o)

RE: Favorite Movie Character Quotes

What have I ever done to make you treat me so disrespectfully? If you'd come to me in friendship, then this scum that ruined your daughter would be suffering this very day. And if by chance an honest man like yourself should make enemies, then they would become my enemies. And then they would fear you

Someday - and that day may never come - I'll call upon you to do a service for me. But until that day, accept this justice as gift on my daughter's wedding day.

And we all know this movie.. at least I hope.. lol

Pity? It was pity that stayed Bilbo's hand. Many that live deserve death. Some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them, Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends. My heart tells me that Gollum has some part to play yet, for good or ill before this is over. The pity of Bilbo may rule the fate of many.

In the place of a Dark Lord you would have a Queen! Not dark but beautiful and terrible as the Morn! Treacherous as the Seas! Stronger than the foundations of the Earth! All shall love me and despair!

RE: Men-Can't Live with them... Can't live without them

An English professor wrote the words,

Woman without her man is nothing,

on the blackboard and directed the students to punctuate it correctly.

The men wrote: Woman, without her man, is nothing.

The women wrote: Woman! Without her, man is nothing.

Love letters

Go on with it Phoenix.. go go.. lol

Love letters

Thank you Rhythmatist,

I do hope I will be the inspiration for a love letter some day, but if not, well it wasn't meant to be. There are other things that a worth just as much.

I believe it would be wonderful to get one that is genuine, but I am in no rush.. there is enough time for that even if I'd get it at the age of 90.. I'd still love it.

Anyway.. It is good to know there are men out there who write love letters.. but what about the women?

I wrote a poem for one of my bf's.. but no real letter... He liked it very much.

So Ladies, are you writing love letters?

Love letters

Phoenix that was about your post.. powerful and wonderful...

Love letters

That is very powerful and wonderful...

Love letters

Thanks Rhythmatist,

that's exactly what was hoping for.. what I wanted to say.. that it is a memory, feelings that once existed..

Love letters

I was not talking about the men who wrote them, I was talking about something they wrote, something they probably even believed in, when they wrote it.

It's something you can look back and still smile at probably.. like I can look back on things that men did or said, even if they didn't write.

Just a memory, that's all.

I thought it would be interesting to hear what others get, read, write, think or whatever.

It is a different kind of poetry and if you call it a love letter, then it must have had love behind it, back when it was written.

Love letters

But you still have them, so they can't be that bad. Or else you would have thrown them away.

Love letters

Did/do you get any? Did/do you write love letters? Do you remember a special one or a special sentence out of one?

I never got any, so I can't start. I believe my bf's thought it is not 'in' to write love letters... ;o)

RE: new movies and favorite movies thread

Hello Libra,

as far as I have seen, the pics look great. I think they did put a lot of effort in the making so far.

No clue about the story though, we won't find out until we see it, right? I hope the will give the story a chance. It will be out on Christmas here.. long time to wait.

Who has seen the Harry Potter movies?

RE: new movies and favorite movies thread

I have seen a trailer for the next Tom Cruise movie, War of the Worlds.

It looked pretty interesting. Who thinks that it might be worth to watch it?

And I have seen the trailer to 'The Chronicles of Narnia'

Looks very cool.. I guess it will be cool for kids. Looking forward to it.

RE: lost loves

A girl asked a boy "Do you like me?" He said no.
She asked him "Do you think I'm pretty?" He said no.
She asked him "Am I in your heart?" He said no.

Last but not least she asked him "If I walked away would you cry about me?" Again he said no.

She walked away, feeling sad.
He grabbed her arm and said:

"I don't like you, I love you.
I don't think that you are pretty, I think that you are beautiful.
You are not IN my heart, you ARE my heart.
I wouldn't cry for you, but I would die for you!"

I know it doesn't really fit here, but I got this today from a friend and wanted to share it.

RE: new movies and favorite movies thread

I forgot.. the Anime was called Helsing, I think. Van Helsing is a movie.. sorry..

No, I don't think they air new british shows here on TV.. or maybe I just didn't happen to see them.

I have seen a show long time ago called Eaton Place I think. Do you know that one? Was good, I liked it.

RE: new movies and favorite movies thread

Sure love Anime.. there are some great ones out there..

I loved Van Helsing.. enjoy Inuyasha and many more.

RE: What is with all the no picture profiles????

I think some people might work at a place where they get recognized easy. Some may be teachers and don't want to face the risk to be seen by a pupil/student, they could be victims of some mean jokes.

Others are maybe just starting out. I believe there are many reasons, not just one. And I doubt that many people really think about, whether they are good looking or not.

Others have no interest to show their pic to us all, they'd rather share it in private.

But what get's me, is when they have a profile without information and no pic.. how is that going to work?

RE: Star Wars - Episode III - Revenge of the Sith- Blockbuster Forum!!!!

I simply don't like Hayden, I have no problem with his part in the movie. But I don't like the actor, that's all.
I can't feel sympathy for him as Anakin. But well, the movie is awsome and I will watch it again for sure.

RE: Star Wars - Episode III - Revenge of the Sith- Blockbuster Forum!!!!

Hi,

I think it is going to be a great movie, I will watch it tonight at 8 PM my time, I'll be able to tell you whether it is really so bad for children or not.

They showed a pic of Anaking after his fall in lava and I do think, that might be too much for a child. I don't think it is the violence, it might be just the whole story being so sad in this one. I am not sure myself.

I am a huge Star Wars fan myself. Do you think Hayden is the perfect man for the role of Anaking? I simply don't like him, don't ask me why, but I just can't get myself to feel sympathy for him, even when I see interviews. Oh well, maybe it's just me.

Tell you more later.. promise not to give away secrets.

RE: new movies and favorite movies thread

I heard from friends that Kingdom of Heaven has a lot of blood in it.
They were both sick, when they got out, but it might be cut there.

One friend was bored with it, telling me it's too long. The other one liked it, but maybe just because of Orlando Bloom.. lol..

Sorry, I haven't seen it yet and I guess this didn't help you much.
