For me, it'll be like last year. I'll be out on the road for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'll visit my family in between just so other drivers can spend that time with their families.
So far here is my experience about your thread creating. Personally I believe that if you want to "attempt " to make yourself popular , I wouldn't go about it by creating threads telling people how they should feel , think , or what they should or shouldn't say.
Also , not to burst your bubble, many people are here to have fun , talk , and meet new people, NOT be told how to go about "commenting" ,or posting as the rest of use refer to it as, since you feel the need to surpress the thoughts and thinking of other individuals.
You have to keep in mind that there are many people here that are from countries , and nations that do have opinions ideals that don't live in a society where they have to watch and worry about what they say in fear or retribution .
Just a thought for a simple mind fellow , to someone looking for attention .
A man walks into a restaurant with a full-grown ostrich behind him. The waitress asks them for their orders. The man says, 'A hamburger, fries and a coke,' and turns to the ostrich, 'What's yours?' 'I'll have the same,' says the ostrich.
A short time later the waitress returns with the order ' That will be $9.40 please,' and the man reaches into his pocket and pulls out the exact change for payment. The next day, the man and the ostrich come again and the man says, 'A hamburger, fries and a coke.' The ostrich says, 'I'll have the same.'
Again the man reaches into his pocket and pays with exact change. This becomes routine until the two enter again. 'The usual?' asks the waitress. 'No, this is Friday night, so I will have a steak, baked potato and a salad,' says the man. 'Same,' says the ostrich.
Shortly the waitress brings the order and says, 'That will be $32.62.' Once again the man pulls the exact change out of his pocket and places it on the table. The waitress cannot hold back her curiosity any longer. 'Excuse me, sir. How do you manage to always come up with the exact change in your pocket every time?'
'Well,' says the man, 'several years ago I was cleaning the attic and found an old lamp. When I rubbed it, a Genie appeared and offered me two wishes. My first wish was that if I ever had to pay for anything, I would just put my hand in my pocket and the right amount of money would always be there.' 'That's brilliant!' says the waitress. 'Most people would ask for a million dollars or something, but you'll always be as rich as you want for as long as you live!''That's right. Whether it's a gallon of milk or a Rolls Royce, the exact money is always there,' says the man.
The waitress asks, 'What's with the ostrich?' The man sighs, pauses and answers, 'My second wish was for a tall chick with a big rear and long legs who agrees with everything I say.'
Don't worry , I know why I"m not on that list.... I had to tell the truth and tell Dana I'm a bad influence. Haven't honestly figured it out though , but that's what I"ve been told on several occasions.
BTW , I would like to see a list of the bad / Naughty ppl and see where I rank
Washington is beautiful thru Snowqualmie pass especially heading towards Seattle in the morning with the low clouds and steam .
But yea , I normally run the southern CA but I figured I need a change of scenery though , I haven't been up in the Norhtwest since Feb , that was an interesting trip though.
But since Salinas is pretty well up and going that's where most of the produce is coming out of now . So that's basicly where I usually load out of in CA , I'll probably load apples out of Washington though when I finish out.
Yea true. I know I"ve meet alot of ppl on here also . Righ tnow I'm sitting outside the gate where I have to make my first drop at in the morning, here in Fresno,CA. Then Tuesday morning I have to be in Medford,OR , and wednesday I ahve Pasco,WA and then Whetachee,WA for my last 2 stops
Yea , there's something definately about it though. I can stay out for several weeks at a time , be off the road for 12 hours and be ready to just leave back out again.
It's just something though that's not for everyone. But I love that feeling once you get under that next load , and your just ready to to go even after you've ran a ffull day already.
No , I'm a company driver , but the boss takes good care of us and in top of the line equipment. But we get told to run these trucks as if they are ours.
Yea , I knwo what you mean though , you can't make any money sitting.
Yea that's the hard part while just starting out , I'll be honest though. Without much exp right now , your chances of finding a company that will keep you moving pretty good are slim, but once you get 2 - 3 years then your options will start opening up and you'll be able to find a better place.
You probably don't want to run like I do though. Although , I am in the perfect situation for how I run, since I can be home when I need be , but I stay out quiet a bit, since there's not much reason for me to take time off.
Not sure what your looking for wether it's regional , local , or OTR. I knwo I couldn't and wouldn't be happy with anything other than OTR myself, that's why I run out to the west coast and back each week , and I don't go any further east than lexington,ky . Furtherest north I go is Champaign,IL but that's pretty rare.
Once you get a few years exp , then you can look for some smaller companies that are better to run for , and know you as a person instead of a #. I would have a dog with me , but I really don't have much time to try and "truck" train one. Although I know a few of the other company drivers that work here are good at it though. Although I really should get another dog though , that way it makes me stop running occasionally so I have to get out of the truck, instead of always moving
RE: The Bar Is Open...................It Is Always ladies night....................
