Sorry not saving just a few quid it takes a lot more money to look after as it were a killer.
I did say the money would be better off spent on rehabilitating prisoners to leave prison and be more constructive in a life. Surely that would be money better spent than keeping them locked in a cell for most of a day.
prisons could be like big factories so prisoners could go to work each morning, earn a wage and yes board and lodgings taken out .
Or did you mean keep looking after killers at the expensie of saving others

We have lots more stuff now to prove guilt so no mistakes but yes a humane way to the death penalty. Dont see why our money should keep them locked up, fed and watered.
The money would be better spent in helping offenders leave prison with better idea how to live a good life.
We should have working prisons, prisoners working earning from earnings board and lodgings took off and to pay their families they left behind.
