I am the walrus! Wait...maybe that was Paul. Seems to me that if I didn't have a clue and was looking for a fake sense of spirituality, any book would do. Luckily, that ain't me.
And yes....I own a few bibles. Favorite is the NIV. Been a while since I read it cover to cover, I think I'll do that again.
Funny story but not true. You can't intentionally burn down your house and collect on the insurance either. That makes you guilty of arson AND insurance fraud.
I simply tell them "Don't do anything that would cause me to have to hunt you down and beat you to death with a bat." Really! My daughter just chuckles when I say this but the looks on some of the boys faces are priceless.
I have printed off the rules list for those who need further clarification.
Ah...but more than once I have discovered that I very clearly explained something about which I was very clearly wrong. So....if someone is not understanding what I am saying, that is a signal to me that I might want to make sure I've got it right.
Someone once said "Sometimes it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt."
I have proven the truth of this staement on more than one occassion>
I can't speak for anyone else, but in my case I spent the last 20 years of my life caring for 2 different women who had significant health issues. It seems to me that when women hit about 40, their insides start turning on them. Women may live longer than men but they seem to do it with a lot more medical issues. I'd just like to have a few years with a woman where I don't spend all my spare time sitting in doctor offices and emergency rooms or brewing tea and cleaning up body fluids. Maybe I've just had really bad luck but I know many men my age who are in the same boat.
