Cos the money is tight as Lok has said.. She may have felt that her friends have always got stuff and money.. so this time she had money and bought her friends things. She could be trying to impress her friends perhaps. have things that other kids might have. Some kids will do anything to get your attention. Sometimes they will only get it if they stuff up. Even if you are constantly picking on her.. she knows your interested in her.
You have vented your anger now.. and breaking more stuff is just going to make more work and money for you to replace.
Maybe start calling her out of her room and ask her nicely to come out and have a mature talk at the table about what has happened.
Maybe put the shoe on her foot and get her to choose a reasonable punishment. Explain what bill's are overdue and need paying. Tell her each time a bill comes in, what its for and why it needs to be paid... such as power bill.. not paid- no hot water for shower etc. If there are red notice bills show her why they are now red!
