RE: Someone PLEASE explain this to me!

We are locking this thread due to ongoing fighting and insulting language, attacks on others, and lack of tolerance and respect for anyone with a different opinion.

READ THE RULES ! TAKE A BREAK IF YOU CAN’T HANDLE A DISCUSSION.

Posting to this thread is no longer possible.

RE: ummmm yeah...?

Segregated! Banned! Shunned! Losing your friends! Listen to yourselves!! What are you complaining about??

We have created the Canada Forums as an ENHANCEMENT to the international site - to give members from Canada a local place of their own, where there is more chance to meet singles closer to home. . The local forums are for discussion of issues and interests for those with a connection here. It’s another way for Connecting Singles to help members find relationships with the special someone they came here seeking. And this will also attract new members from Canada who are only seeking locally.

So now you are free to enter either branch, and you have an additional forum, with the potential of a new group in each. How great is that!!?? And it's all free!

So... again... here's what you have:
You have a local forum for those with a connection there (lives here, travels here, is specifically seeking a match here), and you have the main forum where everybody can gather. You may use either or both. If you want to talk to your international friends, use the main forum. If you want to discuss more local issues and topics, do that in the Canada forum. To do it any other way would only create a duplicate copy of the main site, which would make no sense. The new forums will be places where everyone is a newbie and all can feel safe to join in and post, without fear of attack by an established group.

Now, there of those naysayers who prefer to spend all their time complaining about everyone and everything that is not under their personal control. They don't like change because they’re afraid they may lose a place they feel entitled to. And they work to spread their misconceived ideas no matter how many times they hear the truth.

Well, stop listening to them!
No one has been "segregated"! On the contrary, it will bring more Canada members together and encourage new Canada members to join the forums.

No one is being "shunned"! This has ALL been done for YOUR benefit.

You have not been "banned"! If you were, you wouldn't be here right now!

If you are feeling these things, you need to look within yourself, as these are personal issues with no reality as far as this site opening a few new areas of the forum!

We hope you will like this new area and see the advantage of the changes. This is the way it is set up now, and this is the way it will continue! If you don't like this change you should simply not post. If you don't like the new arrangement, you are as free to leave as you were to join. One thing is though... don't expect to use this quality resource that is offered to you totally free of charge, to bash, disrespect, or downgrade it. Read the rules. They will be enforced.

Think about it!!!
Then, relax, enjoy,
New friends are made in a positive environment. Do your part to keep it that way..

RE: Problems

Hello Me2uflowers,

The mail system is working as it should be. You may not understand how it works.

There are 2 boxes within your Mailbox and Flowerbox. One (Inbox) for incoming mail/flowers you are receiving, and another (Outbox) for the mail/flowers you have sent out to other members. Be sure you are looking at your Inbox (click the Inbox tab).

Also, the mail and flowers are color coded. White background means it was opened or read. Colored (orange - but may depend on the browser you use) means it is new and not read. The message or flower does not go away just because you opened it - it stays in your inbox or outbox for at least 60 days or until you delete it. So the mail you wrote about SHOULD have a white background and be in your Inbox.

If you were referring to the Mailbox button in the top nav turning red for a new message and changing back when you message is opened, this operation is not updated immediately so there is often a delay.

If you have further questions about this, or any other complaint or service related question about the site or your profile, please direct your question to staff using the Contact Us buttons on every site page and they will look into it - or refer to the site Help pages. Members should not post this type questions or concerns in the Forums. There are no service staff here and it does not fit as an appropriate forum topic and the thread will be removed.

About Photos on CS

hmmmmmm. Unfortunately I need to concentrate on the operation of the site – not the photos. Hard to do sometimes… :)

The photo guidelines are posted on the site Help pages and the Photo page. We’ll see if we can make them more clear.

Thanks for your feedback.

About Photos on CS

Primary photos are displayed many places on this site and forums, so they are important. For that reason, photos are manually cropped by staff to display members at their best on the web and to maintain a personal, face-to-face feel in the forums. This process is time consuming for staff, but we feel it is worthwhile and sets this site apart from many others.

Those of you who are complaining here about your photos have all received notes from admin which state that your primary photo on the site “must be of YOU and must show your face”. Your photo must be a clear representation of you and it must show your face. You cannot add a photo of your feet and change it later to be your primary photo! If you do, it is changed to secondary photo by staff when they see it. If you continue to change the photo to primary, it is deleted.

Photos of your pet, auto, etc., have been accepted as secondary photos AS LONG AS they remain secondary and never changed to primary.

For safety reasons, photos of children should not be posted. For copyright reasons, photos of celebrities, cartoons, artwork by others, etc., cannot be posted. For respectability reasons, nudity is not allowed.

It’s simple: post a clear, tasteful picture of yourself and enjoy the site.
If you don’t want to show your real self on your profile – don’t add a photo! It’s up to you….

RE: Up front and personal

The photos on the home page are real members. They come up randomly. Click on any of them to go to their profile. The volume of photos is large, so odds are you may not see members you know from the forums.

Here's an example of a Nigerian scammer for you (the person above me).

RE: CS listens to your feedback…. Who's Viewed Me Feature

Solitaire,

What are you saying??

CS listens to your feedback!!!

We are working hard to give members a requested feature that allows THEM to see who has viewed their profile. Anyone who does not want to use the feature will be able to turn it off.

This has nothing to do with admin here. (Central Security???)

Sheesh!

Is it what’s inside that counts - or is everyone really looking for someone beautiful?

People say in their profiles that looks aren’t important – it’s what’s inside that counts. They say they’re not picky - that they’re not looking for mr/ms perfect. If that’s true, why do the beautiful people get all the mail, favorites, hits? Do people really mean that when they say it? Or do they just not know what they want? It seems that unless you are extremely attractive, you never get the chance to show what you’ve got on the inside. What’s your opinion on this?
