Why do People wait till Valentine's Day to show how much someone means to them? Show it the other 36

But True, That's my point... you should show how you feel EVERYDAY, it's like the song "If Tomorrow Never Comes" I could get hit by a bus before Valentines, so I want her to know how much she means to me..

I spent 4 yrs with someone, and only 1 day out of those 4yrs, did I not tell her that I loved her (As she hurt me in such a way, that I forced myself not to say them, so she knew how hurt I was, and It killed me inside not to say it)

With my ex gf, if we'd be talking, and she'd mention a magazine or a book / cd she liked and must remember to buy, if I was out somewhere, I'd buy it for her, and then surprise her with it.
I'd Put an effort into cooking a simple meal, and present it as nicest I could.
Maybe it's just my way of thinking, but I thing It's the little things like that show that you pay attention and appreciate her when she speaks, by picking up her favorite magazine, or renting a movie you know she wants to watch, or by telling her to put her feet up, whilst you cook, do the dishes, clean or whatever etc..

Single, I can appreciate and understand that, There are always very genuine reasons as you stated. But It seems that more and more people (Especially the younger ones, who don't have kids, or live at home etc, seem to have the mentality "Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen" and feed their loved ones scraps of of affection, like they're feeding bread to ducks at the park.
Just seems very said that it seems like it's almost NOT COOL to show your feelings.. It's a shame :(

Show it the other 364 days a year too!!

I dunno why, but for me being expected to do something nice on that day cheapens it, as it's not from the heart, do something nice when it's not expected, and it's more geniune and from the heart.

Don't Get me wrong, I love Valentine's Day, but what I don't like is, the fact that some people do nothing to show appreciation towards their partner all year, and then on Valentine's, they go out for a "Romantic Meal" and sit there Barely speaking, or pretending to have a great time. Just seems very fake. Which is why I feel, if you truly care about someone, you'll show it 365 days a year, and not just on "Valentine's Day".
