In Wisconsin we say soda not pop. When I was in Indiana it was pop not soda.
Then when you ask where is a bubbler (drinking fountain) people didn't understand. That is a word from Milwaukee. Maybe it's also used other places, don't know.

Currently people arriving from US to China are being detained in holding centers to verifiy they are not infected with swine flu.

I visited ShangHai in 1995/1996 and it was very nice. A lot of people on the streets, stores etc. during the day. Then at night only people out were going to clubs.
Beautiful gardens, museums, and lots of places to eat. I needed the skill of using chop sticks to eat as most of the resteraunts did not have tableware back then. Learn to use chop sticks to eat with before going is a big help. Don't drink the water unless it is boiled for tea. Never use ice in any beverage. Never eat fresh vegetables or fruits. I was healthy and fine during my stay.
Nice things to buy made of silk and jade. If it says Art Silk it means artificial (synthetic) silk.

US Visa to emigrate to the US can take a citizen of China 10 years or so to obtain. Fastest way is getting a fiance /fiancee then it may take one year.
A conversion would have to be made with your whole heart, mind and soul. Otherwise it would be false and you would only fool yourself. Are you willing to make a true conversion?
