druidess6308: No need, Jash, especially on a dating site.
i gotta agree. i wouldn't trade my God for anybody. There is only one for me. to each his/her own. i respect other people's religion, but i will remain what i am.

I think it is arrogant and ignorant to think one has the right to change someone else's fundamental religious beliefs. I agree--respect and see the value in people for whom they are.

If someone is passionate with their beliefs an truly feel deeply with all their heart and soul that what they believe is the truth, they want to share that with other people so that hopefully they will one day feel the happiness and passion too...
Not all people who talk about their religion are just doing it to be dogmatic and annoying

I dont have a problem with people who quietly put it out there so you can either take it or leave it. Its the "bible thumperd" that I have a problem with. The ones who are in your face and pushing constantly.

When they get like that then they aren't really trying to eminate their God I suppose..they are just naturally aggressive and want everyone to do as they say lol
avecalm: I think it is arrogant and ignorant to think one has the right to change someone else's fundamental religious beliefs.
But it is IMPOSSIBLE to change someone else's beliefs.
That is the one thing that God, in his wisdom, doesn't permit.
You can beat a person, taze him, jail him, drug him, lecture him, force him to do things, etc etc etc but you can't change his fundamental beliefs. In fact, for all your efforts you will probably only reinforce those beliefs.
Only the individual himself can change his beliefs. And that is his right. And a basic part of that right is the liberty to discuss beliefs with others so the person can compare, reflect, and choose his own beliefs.
To limit the exchange of religious thought and thereby prevent conversion is the same thing as imposing beliefs.
Religious evil thrives in darkness, when the exchange of ideas is forbidden. The most evil religious oppressors are the ones who forbid the exchange of ideas with outsiders.

I feel the same way.
Those pushy religionists are the same people who will try to forbid opposing opinions from being put forth.
Jesus never insisted that anyone listen to him or believe what he said. As much as possible, He did his teaching out in the countryside. Only those who wanted to hear would come. And his teachings were entirely "take it or leave it".
About the only time he spoke in very public place was when his enemies insisted on it, hoping to find a way to accuse Him.
He also put most of his teachings in the form of simple parables, so that those who didn't want to be influenced wouldn't even understand. Understanding the point required belief that the point was present, valid, and important.
Mt 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. ... 15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart...
First I not only have the right but a biblical command to preach the gospel or change a persons view point. Jesus sends the called and saved to the lost world to save souls.
The command of the Lord. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,[ trinity ] and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."[ Matt.28:18-20 ]
The reason we preach...He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead. All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."[ Acts 10:42-43 ]
Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent?[ Rom.10:13-15 )
Clearly I have the right and the command I dont need human premission to do the KNOWN will of God.
The Christians is Christ's ambassadors .....Jesus said those who reject His Word via the messenger reject Him....Luke 10:16 "He who listens to you[ The messenger] listens to me; he who rejects you [ the messenger ] rejects me; [Jesus ]but he who rejects me[ Jesus ] rejects him who sent me." [ The Father ]
In preaching the gospel part of your efforts will be spent defending the truths of the bible and exposing the deadly errors of false gods and false useless faiths.
Biblical Chirstians are at war on false doctrines Weapons of Warfare is the Word of God....The command is to demolish or destroy Falsehoods through Sound biblical teaching.
For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.[ 2 Cor 10:3-5
The sad fact is... The fool does not want to find the truth; he only wants to be self-justified in his own imaginations. While he may feign objectivity, 'A fool hath no delight in understanding, but only that his heart may reveal itself' (Prov. 18:2). He is committed to his own presuppositions and wishes to guard his autonomy. Thus he will not depart from evil (Prov. 13:19), and thus all his knowledgeable talk reveals nothing but perverse and lying lips (Prov. 10:18; 19:1). He may talk proudly, but "A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are a snare of his soul' (Prov. 18:7). He shall not endure the judgment of God (Ps. 5:5)."
How about you? Do you wish to be arrogant and ignorant?
........ Warning............. If you die without believing in Christ, then your fate will be eternally sealed, because belief in Christ and the gospel must occur on earth before you die (Lk. 16:19-31; Jude 7, 13; 2 Pet. 2:4, 9)..
A conversion would have to be made with your whole heart, mind and soul. Otherwise it would be false and you would only fool yourself. Are you willing to make a true conversion?
