Archaeology and science have proven the evolutionary route resulting in mankind, we didn't just drop out of the sky 6,000 years ago according to the Bible. Why our brains are so superior to all the other life forms is the big mystery for me. But because we have the ability to question, answers are therefore required. If the answer is illusive, we then create one to pacify our enquiring, tormented minds. Children have fairy stories, adults have the bible. All are man made IMO.

I don't see why it couldn't be a bit of both to be honest...the world evolves but couldnt the ability to change and survive be a gift from the creators? Assuming we are children of sorts then it makes perfect sense to me that our parents would equip us with everything necessary for survival - the ability to change ones perceptions, environment and habits as necessary in order to survive.
I sure hope Ive helped equip my own daughter with enough of these skills that she evolves through life in a positive way. Will the fact that she continues to evolve as a human or even has that ability negate the fact that I played a 50% role in her creation? I think not.
So both apply in my book.

Thats a myth - he didnt, there are memoirs from his daughter, Henrietta, stating that the woman who made this claim didnt go anywhere near him at the time she claims to have had the converstaion with him if at all.....
This is just another illustration of religion grasping at straws to further promote their falsehoods.....

I was once at your stage too but its the other bits of evidence such as the many contradictions in the Bible or actual contemporary evidence of the Jesus person which swayed my decision

Well, the Creator is infinite, so why can't he give religion to man in an infinite number of ways? Why can't an infinite number of people be divinely inspired to write their culture's interpretation of Creation? Why do we have to be right or wrong in our religious beliefs? Why do we insist that "my God's bigger than your God" or "my Book is the one and only True Book?"
