"May the new year be like a book with 365 blank pages, where you can make of every page a masterpiece, use every color that life offers you and always smile while you are writing on it..."

I wish all CSers a very luminous 2011, and that all pages of your book may be filled with loads of health and peace.
Pat I see where you are coming from, however, to make a comment is one thing, to ridicule and make agressive comments towards someone else's faith is a completely different matter. Some of the posts were very disrespectul indeed, so no, it is not ok. And I will repeat this, I am not a religious person myself, however, I come from a country where we tolerate all sorts of faith, Brazil is probably one of the countries which has the most diverse religious beliefs in the world, if not the only country I dare say. We have muslims, jews, christians, spiritualists of all sorts, evangelics etc etc etc, not to mention the mixture of African originated religions with catholic beliefs which happens here for centuries. Are we 100% tolerant, of course not, but my point is that most of us, and I am talking about nearly 200 million people have learned that religion is something that one should always respect, no matter how wrong we think that is.
First of all, I never mentioned your nickname in any of my posts on this thread. Second of all, if I had to disagree with anything that any particular member had said I would address them directly, and they would know exactly where I stand in relation to them. I am a big girl, I can take the heat. I believe you missed my point entirely, my point here is that the original post did not tried to convert or preach anything, he simply posted a nice piece of text about God in the (and I repeat) RELIGION, SPIRITUALITY & PHYLOSOPHY forum. If people are not religious, or spiritual and ultimately do not believe in God, why on earth do they click on such posts???? There are plenty of forums around for all tastes, so why cannot people leave it alone?? That is my point. For instance, I usually have no interest in the Games forum, so would it be ok if I just go in and start saying that the thread is stupid, silly or whatever I feel i can say? NO, it is not ok. I simply just don't participate, that is my point here. People love to lecture about freedom of speech, choices and bla bla bla, but forget that other people also have the same rights.
Well said and I also agree with mindful. It is very simple, if I don't like a thread, I choose not to participate on it. If I pass by a certain religious group on the street to which I happen to disagree, I will not start shouting at them or disrespecting their beliefs. The same should apply here, if you don't believe in God, just move on to the next thread, there are plenty here!
I am not a religious person, but I do believe in God, on my own way, I saw what the OP posted and found it beautiful and in my opinion true, and although I disagree with many things that Christians do and preach I still see the beauty on what was posted.
Also just as a reminder, CS has a RELIGION, SPIRITUALITY AND PHYLOSOPHY forum dedicated to whoever wants to post about these subjects, and the OP posted it there, not elsewhere, so if you are not religious and do not believe in God is very simple, just keep away. If you are entitled to not to believe in something, wouldn't the same principle apply otherwise?
We should all practice more tolerance, the world would be a much better place.
I have two email accounts, a real one and another one that i give only to people of whom i am not really sure of or to companies, so i don't have to deal with too much spam on my main email address.
I read here that scammers can get even our phone number and home address, but how is that possible? Anyone knows?
I partially agree with you, yes there was a time in human history that it was the case, but as anything in this planet we also evolved. Women have come a long way considering all the repression suffered for centuries by religion and so on.
What I feel nowadays is that men and women are a bit confused about their roles in society and that could be the cause of so many broken people, so many lonely people out there. We may be all very confused and consequently afraid to open our hearts.
IMO some men still fell deep inside that they need to be in charge of the relationship or else they will feeel emasculated. It is nobody's fault, it is just the way men were raised for hundred or years and in many countries they still are.
This type of man may find difficult to share life with a strong woman and hence can't handle her. Not sure, I think that it could be one of the reasons.
RE: Global Pandemic.....,1 Million dead since 2001,-and the killing continues...
telling by the content of this thread and the number of pages, it is business as usual in CS.
