RE: Do Women really need the Companionship of MEN?

I can obviously only speak for myself. I do not need a man, but I do want to share my life with someone, we would complete each other.

If they don't understand you...

Hi all

Just wanted to share something that I read on Paulo Coelho blog. Very good advice laugh
p.s. I have to go out now, but will be back later to reply to any posts. teddybear

A fervent Buddhist lady made every effort to love others. But every time she went to the market, a merchant made indecent proposals to her.

One rainy morning, when the man bothered her once again, she lost control and hit him on the face with her umbrella.

That same afternoon, she sought out a monk and told him what had happened.
“I am ashamed,” she said. “I couldn’t control my hate.”

“You did wrong to hate him,” answered the monk. ” But life is about communicating our feelings to each other – and you need to understand that people are different”.

“The next time he says something, fill your heart with goodness.
“And hit him again with your umbrella, because that’s the only language he knows.”

Jokes aside, back in the late 1990s, the world waalso supposed to end in 2000, then 2001, now 2011, 2012 and so on.
I personally don't believe in any of it, I do believe that Earth is going through major changes, and there is a reason for that, but the end?? Hardly...

The human arrogance really takes huge proportions sometimes, people who think they are the chosen ones, second coming of Christ and all that...doh

i love when native speakers ask if is "funny haha" or "strange funny". Beginners students go crazy when they start learing those peculiarities

RE: Isn't it interesting that ''swear'' has two unlike meanings in English?

"flour" and "flower" are on of my favorites, I can still remember the day that I learned the word "flour" and could not understand why it had to sound exactly like "flower" giggle

I love the English language, and despite of waht people say, it is not a difficult language, specially when it comes to verbs, comparing with the latin languages, it is a bliss!!

I love the phrasal verbs and the idioms applause

Very true, and IME CS is actually better than many of them considering that is 100% free.
As per the scammers, well, if you think about all that the site offers they are a minor issue really, IMO.
