this thread is kind of selective..for those of us retired...how do you occupy your time?? lately i've been turning dead tree branches into hand made canes and walking sticks which I donate to the Veterans Home here where I live. Each one is different and unique, and gives me a sense of accomplishment, will most likely tire of it soon and move to something else. SO, WHAT DO YA'LL DO??
Solution, I don't know, fighting isn't working and neither is diplomacy, seems all that is left is a long unused and often unthought of alternative. I'm not a particularly religious fella but maybe we all ought to try PRAYER...might work
i spent 30 years as a truck driver before retirement, i've learned to let none of that stuff bother me, it'll drive you crazy if you do. just go out there, get where you're going as safely as you can, and return home the same way. this poll is pointless
i found chasing women works well also, but this last one over in New Mexico seems to have gotten deeper under my skin than most, think I'm gonna stick with her as she has promised to walk with me the rest of my days, seems a good deal to me
Tell you this LG, retirement is not precisely as I had envisioned it. I was always a fella who threw himself into his work, to just stop one day without a plan of how I would occupy all those hours was a bit traumatic at first. It has taken several years to get truly comfortable and at ease with not working. My suggestion would be to have a plan in place before you retire and be certain you have the finances to adhere to it. Of course leave yourself some flexibility in there also for those unexpected urges that will occur. HAPPY RETIREMENT
you're gonna have to explain why you think we really wouldn't want them to become reality. I for one keep hoping for mine to occur sometime before I get to old to enjoy it or remember it happened
Destructive! all encompassing, self, others around you, both strangers, and those close. The anger I carried upon my return from Southeast Asia many years ago nearly destroyed me, it did ruin a marriage and alienated me from my children for years. After all this time it still remains but I have thankfully found constructive outlets and ways to cope. To many have not, and they are only a small fraction of the RAGE that exists in todays society.
This is a WORLD-WIDE epidemic that must be realized and dealt with before we destroy ourselves!!
For my part, i'm gonna open a bag of Andes chocolate, pour a cup of coffee and play some more in the forums..enjoy...
Welcome to the madhouse Cristals, hope you have fun...and todays reason to throw a party...26-01-1901, the Wright bros. bought their first bucket of bolts in preparation for building the first aircraft....Party people, it's celebration time
If I were a woman, going all the way to Turkey for a "WONDERFUL MOMENT" seems a waste of time and resources. Think I'd want it to last a wee bit longer than that
RE: wat is ur pet hate behind the wheel
no Blaine, i'm pretty much the same attitude when i drive my car
