My son will be 2 in June. He is my life. I always tell people that he is probably the only reason I am still in college. I hated school and couldn't wait to get out and then I had him and I really wanted to start bettering myself so I stayed in school and now I am on my way to being a nurse someday.

I say Dave and Busters is a good idea. There is plenty of things to do there and there should defiantly be things there to do that you would both have in common. It is also a good place to relax and just be yourself and see how things go. Take separate cars that way if things don't go well there will not be the awkward silence on the way home.

The only time I dont have my son is when I am in school. The guys I have gone on dates with don't like having my son around. They usually stop calling within 2 weeks. Maybe its just the area that I am in, or my age.

How old were your children when you were trying to date? The age of a child makes a difference trust me. I have a 21 month old it is hard to find a man that doesn't mind that I have my son 95% of the time. Men don't want to have to help you watch a child all the time because at my son's age he has to be watched all the time.

I don't have a problem dating somebody with a small child. I have a 21 month old myself so it would give my son another child to play with, while me and the father got to know each other. I think of it as a plus because then at least I know that he takes responsibility for his actions and doesn’t just walk away from the child once he and the mother split.

No way would I marry a man that expected obedience from me. I probably would not even date a man that expected obedience from me. If he changed after we were married and decided he wanted obedience from me the marriage would be over before the honeymoon.

I know that men have feelings. The thing is most men do not like to show their feelings or emotions because they think that it will make them appear weak and they are wrong to think that. I as a woman actually likes it when a man shares his feelings with me or will tell me what he is thinking about, but most men will not do things like that. That is why a lot of women just act like men dont have feelings or emotions.

Women are not meant to be obedient, human or dog. Its just not in our DNA. So I would stop even trying to think that we will ever be obedient.

It is great that you were a man and tried to make it work, and even better that you challenge people to be the best that they can be.
But my point is still people are not the way they used to be anymore nobody wants to take responsibility for their actions and men are the ones that seem to walk out the most.
I am glad to see that there are good men like you out there, maybe I shouldn't give up all hope. .

I agree with that but there are not many of those men left anymore unfortunately.

Honestly the way things are now men don’t want to be head of the household anymore. When things get hard the man can get up and walk out. We are left to take care of the kids, house, bills, car, and any other problems that he decides to leave us with. Things are not the same as they were 20 or 30 years ago where the men actually felt like they should take responsibility for their actions.
Why should the man be head of the household if we make more money than him? We still have dinner waiting for him when he gets home, made sure the kids have had a bath, house is clean. All he has to do is sit on the couch and watch TV we get stuck with all the other responsibilities. This is all if he decides to stick around.
I do not believe in bowing down to a man. I was raised by a single mother and it taught me to be strong and never depend on a man for anything, and I do my best not to. I am also a single mother, and I take care of my son 95% of the time by myself while his father gets to go out and party and do whatever he wants whenever he want to.
So no I will not obey a man!!

You have to remember that the obeying part goes both ways in the wedding vows, not just to the woman. So are you going to obey the woman you marry? I doubt it. So why should we as women be forced to obey a man? I don’t have anything like "if you want obedience get a pet" in my profile, but the only people that should have to obey anybody should be children, and that is only for their own safety and security.

I actually waited a few months before I started looking for somebody else to date. I am 21 years old and I dont want to be single for the rest of my life while I am waiting around for him to decide how much time and space he wants.

My ex told me he needed time and space but when I try to go out he is never willing to watch our son, so I can go on a date. I tried to tell him that he cant ask for space and expect me to wait around for him. Am I wrong to feel like this?
