How could the irish fight as a nation during the world wars tell me????????? we were still under brit control during the first world war and the second war we (the republic) was recovering from years of oppression, now u tell me a small nation like ireland with less than 3 million at the time could possibly compete in a world war If we could have fought we would and many an Irish man joined the british army to fight in the war, I think u will find alot of irish men out of necessity not because they loved britain
