Val I'm sorry to hear this. Very difficult especially if there are young children involved?
If I may, you may not be aware of this but the laws regarding assisting family members in Ontario has changed quite a bit. If you are employed, you are eligible for wage assistance?

This is so that you can help care for your brother if needed.

Because you have such a big family it might be prudent to create a chore roster? So that everyone can take turns doing various chores and no one single person gets burned out? Your brother might also be eligible for benefits.

There are quite a few resources around and it might be prudent to start investigating them. Often times people don't get the assistance they require to cope with these kinds of situations, and situations become very difficult for all parties to deal with so if you are able to begin earlier...

If I had my way, I would have a sanctuary for marine critters and rescued mammals. Big exotic ones that are no longer wanted because the stoopid human didn't realize a bengal tigers "grows sooo big"..

I agree Amity and thank you for your support. When I use the word "ignorant" I use it in the literal sense meaning "not knowing, lack of knowledge"

its strange to me that so often people are actually kind of saying the same thing or two ideas that could be working side by side and yet people become angry and i feel these are missed opportunities.

I see the above as a very very good point. An attitude I welcome and respect.

But as Ghandi once said "You must be the change you wish to see in the world."

I see your point about everyone looking after their own 'backyard" but ..they don't.And because they don't see what happens ....can I say it? globally? It affects all.
