I have heard that book is amazing! I think someone like you would really benefit from it. I wish I had been turned on to such things when I was your age. Good luck with your dreams! I can imagine the growth you have experienced already. There are no accidents. Galactic posting a quote from The Art Of War is a sign for you to go deeper, especially since it resonated with you. JMO
Why not say what is meant then? Why not write "man who respects God" or "God loving man"?
I think fear is always meant to mean fear. It can not be disputed that religions have put the fear of God into their congregation as a means of control.
That word does seem to have lost some of its meaning, in a way. All the "I love my car" "I love french fries" "I love my baseball team"....takes away the depth of the meaning of that word. What love represents in its purest form can't be diluted but I see what you mean about "the L word".
I think there is not limit to how many or to what degree we can feel what that word is supposed to represent, though.
Yes, having a partner to share all the fun times with is great. It would be interesting to be suddenly retired and alone. Really would challenge a person to discover their passions and interests beyond the superficial...going to movies, eating dinner out, etc.
Nice! How did you handle the transformation from "career man" to "free man"? Some men don't handle retirement well. What makes one man love life after career and another man whither away?
I wonder if it's different for men than it is for women. It seems like women just begin to feel freer and freer as they get older. Do men feel this way as well, or do they feel less productive and therefore less happy? What I mean is men tend to identify a lot with their careers, so what happens when the career can no longer define them?
RE: TO ALL THE OLDER GUYS THAT HATE ON THE YOUNGSTERS hEre!
So right, Puppypower, after reflecting for a moment, I would think a good strong tongue would be much more useful.
