RE: Perception/Vision

You're most welcome articulate!

RE: Perception/Vision

Ahh maybe vision is what the eyes see and perception the interpretation of that by the brain. A newborn can see, yet has limited perception as the brain has not learned to recognize anything. The world is a jumble for it. As we grow we learn to see the world in the same way as everyone else. When we see a tree, we associate that image with the mental idea we have of ‘tree’. This is perception.

This means the possibility is there for us to perceive what the eyes see differently - if we could break the chains of our perception then a whole new dimension would be added to this reality.

It is said that our perception has been limited by environmental constraints and our need to survive in the material world, to be able to sense danger, find food etc - what we see is a fraction of what is out there. These are not my own ideas, but a great man, Aldous Huxley, once wrote a seminal book called ' the doors of perception ' - a good read indeed. Another great man, Carlos Castaneda talks a lot about perception in his books - again fascinating stuff.

RE: Red wine is better and white wine kills my head

Whiskey gives me no headaches - wine does, red or white so does any kind of beer. I don’t drink much, but whiskey's the one for me. And this thread was about red or white - we're going off a bit here. But could it be the yeast in the beer and red/white wine. It can't be the tannins because whiskey and red wine both have a lot. Oh and I mean Scottish or Irish whiskey, not American. That gives me a headache!

TallDarkvidpro - you started this thread; what's it all about. :-)

RE: Working out

"great date ideas" didn't realize that was the category. Let's workout together on our first date? Hmmm…. interesting idea but....

RE: i'm incrediably bored

Hmmm… what's required here and in any other place where people have to type quickly is an instant spelling checker/corrector. If any software geniuses are out there or if anyone knows where such a bit of software could be downloaded let us all know. Save a lot of embarrassment and nails in the head for some!

any good advice on why we are the way we are?

hmm tooting your own horn - kinda trying to sell oursleves to people - but I do understand that may not be what everyone likes, yet it can help pique someones interest - what is this person about etc . Hey - this is ok - meeting people in this virtual plane - never done it b4 :)

And Shaun - you are right of course - each is different that what makes this world such an amazing place and beautiful too! to be a reminder so that it's real!!

any good advice on why we are the way we are?

All these wonderful women on the site - and I'm new so haven't really checked it all out but so far so good.

Would like an answer to an old dilemma of mine - whenever I come across an attractive woman they seem to think (90% of the time) that the men should come after them and be impressive. Is this not a little old fashioned - I am a man - not a puff - and am happy to start conversations and take the initiative - but we are supposed to be modern - living in a world where men and women are equal - so why don’t you wonderful women take the initiative. Ok its not just on the site, haven't been here long so hard to say - maybe I'm unappealing but are all my friends too? Could be - maybe -but it's just what I've seen in life so far! Any interesting theories out there would; love to hear what everyone has to say. Men and women both. Am I wrong would love to hear that too - OK maybe if you are drop dead gorgeous women throw themselves at you - any of you drop dead gorgeous guys pls tell me if this is true - honestly!!

RE: Working out

Work out but not just for bulking out - aerobic exercise for stamina is important - more than a big body. I know this guy who has huge muscles, in the gym all the time - but Im stronger with my small lean taught muscles!!
The right exercise is important. Yoga is very good as it improves posture, circulation and energy. Practised regurlarly can protect you against many diseases and stress!!
