Evidently my spelling and grammar have eluded me today.

Do yoyou think opposites attract because we can't bare to look at our own flaws

I heard a saying to the effect that we are never more disturbed by the flaws of another person than when they are so close to our own flaws as it is like looking in a mirror.
We see their flaws, can't accept the person for them, yet know we are the same ourselves.

DO you think that is why the old adage holds that opposites attract?

Do we judge those with attributes we dont have more positively than those with whom we share common traits?

Dumb question I know...but would you reply to someone with a 'staged' photo?

RE: What's made you smile today?

Mr H

That's hilarious and disturbing and funny at the same time.

May I ask what you typed in to youtube to find such a video?

Haha yeah if it was Alan Rickman I'd go numb...may be shouldn't post that publicly...

Yeah that's what it looks like. Chiselled jaw, nice big lips, refined features, sharp suit...but something is just 'off' and I dont know what. I think it just might be a male model because he has that classic male stare of looking off to the right with a 'lost in thought' serious expression. Either that or he is a cracking looking guy who has had a professional photo...he is a web designer, maybe its for business.

Or maybe I'm just letting my incredibly shallow side take over dancing

Yeah it just looks very staged.

I am acutely aware that this is a kind of double standard but due to some bad experiences I'm hesitant to put my photo on my profile..and because of my job. I'll only give out a photo once a good rapport has been made so as to sift out the creeps, pervs and users.

But is there not something terribly unnerving about peoples profile photos which look like something out of a photoshoot?

I'm talking to one guy right now who just sounds, and looks, to good to be true. Are these folks usually spammers?

RE: "Smells" that evoke Childhood Memories

A waft of milk and play-doh whizzes my memory back to when I was four-years-old in nursery.

Also the smell of my Gran's Tablet. Still not tasted a commercialised version which tastes nicer than my Gran's Vanilla Tablet.

What is your favourite movie score?

laugh Haha pretty much, but they are pretty tears.

Nice choice, I like that one.

RE: What do you see out of your window?

Yeah pity *most* Scots take it for granted. I only started taking an interest in it in my late teens.

Well it is the city of architecture, I myself like prefer Edinburgh.

Yeah the Royal is being refurbished just now.

What is your favourite movie score?

Haha well with some films I do the same, but there are some wonderful scores out there.

Okay so what is your favourite film?

Mine is the old classic Cleopatra with Elizabeth Taylor

RE: What do you see out of your window?

Well from where I am, Ben Lomond is North West which is the highest peak around Loch Lomond.

The Campsie Hills are hills North Glasgow behind which you have the lowlands which spread across until you get to the Ochill hills in Stirling, very dramatic and beautiful scenery.

What is your favourite movie score?

Haha yes perhaps, but I thought that would have been too mundane.

I love listening to movie scores and even the music in TV advertisements wave

I was just wondering if anyone came up with any interesting scores I hadn't heard of.

RE: What do you see out of your window?

From my window I can just about see the peak of Ben Lomond and the Campsie hills wave

RE: Two words - keep one the same

Any place

What is your favourite movie score?

My favourite has to be 'A Rose' by Thomas Newman for the film American Beauty.

I'm not a huge fan of the film but that score, all 1min 26sec of it is beautiful.

RE: Whats your weather like?

I want heat!

RE: Whats your weather like?

It is raining, misty and humid in Glasgow today.

Haha.

You are days behind laugh

It's not always a good idea to pluck one statement when it is not placed in the bigger context either, thats called cherry picking.

What would you say was the biggest bane of today's society?

I know -pity.

There are a few TV Evangelists I'd happily see devoured for a 'gift' of $2

RE: What's made you smile today?

One of my little dogs buzzing round and round me like a little firefly, I thought she was hungry or wanted to go out a walk...she just wanted a cuddle. She snuggled up beside me and fell asleep yawn

RE: would you move from Uk? if so, where to??

Well I wouldn't move from the Uk, but I'd like to move from Glasgow to the beautiful St. Andrews where I study for the breathtaking views and unashamed pretentiousness!

What would I miss from Glasgow?...the beautiful architecture :)

What would you say was the biggest bane of today's society?

Oh yeah, nice one.

Although up here we call them 'Neds'

Me and my friends fantasise running them over in our cars 'ten ned bowling' we call it :D

What would you say was the biggest bane of today's society?

I think it's spin. Which does of course go way back to the Sophists who were master rhetoricians but it seems to be the accepted way of doing things these days whether via broadcasting, politicising or to get your way through work, you need only watch The Apprentice.

What do you think?
