RE: Should A Woman Approach A Man and Introduce Her Self in Public

I’m old school…

However, I’m learning that in the day of equality, I think it’s great that a woman has enough self confidence in herself to show a fearless in making the first move; for making the first move whether man or woman can be very intimidating.

At any rate, it can say much about her style and personality and to me it speaks to her ability to put another at ease which may give cause for something special to begin – to me that ability in a woman is indeed very, very attractive and as mentioned in an earlier reply, men do like it – yes, men do like it very much, indeed. applause

RE: Why do you believe in your religion

As for seeking the truth, your truth, the path of man is crooked and on the road leading off to destruction.

There is only one truth and it has been here since the beginning before any other belief or practice existed.

I said to you before, that you like to live by the word and teachings of man. I neglected to ask, are you willing to die defending the teachings of man? Perhaps, I should think...

Truly it is a sad state of affairs that somewhere you became embittered with God and I would venture to say it was when you were so young, vulnerable and easy to mold by one you idolized - someone older that held your hand so you wouldn't be frightened – he fed you death dealing babble.

I say what a waste of such intelligence for you are and you are aware of it. But the intelligence was not of you own doing was it?

You are not the cause of it, are you? Where do you suppose it came from? Mom and Dad? In a way but where did one or both of them get it? What has happened to your right thinking? You had it once, you know.

Have you ever met someone intelligent like yourself, maybe more so and became hostile with him? (no, it's is not I). The reason is that each one believes he/she is superior - God, the Creator teaches us to be humble. Do your gods teach that? If so, why aren't you practicing what you've been taught; unless of course you were taught to live through cynicism, anger, unrest, not peaceable, seeking conflict - a right fighter?

I understand you seek your truth; but I seek out God's truth and not mine for I am a mere speck of dust in His eyes, powerless - therefore humble.

I have no malice in my being toward you but I do have a righteous indignation toward your belief system and the misguided ones that twisted your reasoning mind.

Think about...

If you would like to continue this you are welcome to email me; otherwise, live your way of life and enjoy yourself.

RE: Why do you believe in your religion

StressFree - hummm, your handle seems to be a bit deceiving.

Please don't question my knowledge of the Bible. It's obvious to me that you go looking for an argument and too it's difficult for you to accept the view or opinion of another - as you accuse me of - you need to get a grip, friend and reduce the size of that chip on your shoulder; better yet, remove it completely you'll live a happier life.

Just to set this "soul" thing straight, if you truly knew anything concerning scripture you would’ve learned that "soul" in the Bible is not the invisible self but the "self" itself; YOU, the person, in your case - the man.

Scripture says that when God blew into the man's nostrils the breath of life and t man he came to be a living soul.

Have you never heard, the soul that's sinning, it itself will surely die.

How about, the wages sin pays is death... the death of the sinning soul or person.

By the way, I told YOU that the answers to many of the listed article scriptures are in those scriptures.

I meant to tell you - concerning the Authority of God and the blatant challenge you present to his Sovereignty, you remind me of a very naughty and very disobedient child.

Child (children)... Tell me, when you were young how many times did you challenge, oh let's say, your father? Did you believe you were in a position to challenge "his law?"

If so how often did you get away with inappropriate behavior? Did you pay for your indiscretion? I'll bet you did! Why? Because 1) your father is the leader who sets the rules - "law." 2) He loves you (I hope). 3) He wanted and wants you to succeed in life, living it clean and sober. 4) He is desirous of your love and loyalty. 5) Your obedience makes him proud that you align with him and are in agreement with him - that's called family unity - which is something that's lacking in this world. 6) He wants you to live in peace with like minded meek ones and not the rabble-rouser's, dissenters, reviler's and trouble makers of the world... need I go on?

Tell me, what did you glean from my comment above? Well it should be this: Your father then as now (if he's still around in life), has the sovereign authority, and power given to him by God to ask of you obedience. It is the matrix in which God has given man and this given by example.

You insult Him in that you so proudly claim to be a Pantheist – yes, I know a worshiper of many gods. Yet you must know that the Creator of the universe, God is one god; don't tell me that I don't know my scriptures (just because I choose to sort of paraphrase) maybe you should try this on for size master pantheist.

Read this. Isaiah 44:6 - I am the first and I am the last, and besides me there is no God. 7 And who is there like me? Let him call out, that he may tell it and present it to me. From when I appointed the people of long ago, both the things coming and the things that will enter in let them tell on their part. 8 Do not be in dread, YOU people, and do not become stupefied. Have I not from that time on caused you individually to hear and told out? And YOU are my witnesses. Does there exist a God besides me? No, there is no Rock. I have recognized none.’”

Do you get it? Review verse 6. Do you get the meaning? There is no other God found along side Him. No multiple god's; Vs 7, He makes a challenge to all other gods to come forth and speak of their deeds - to stand up for themselves - to show their superior power. Vs 8, He is encouraging His chosen not to concern themselves over stories/myths/falsehoods because His mighty deeds were experienced first hand by the ancient Hebrews when he humiliated pharaoh, the self proclaimed man/god - proving that there lives no other God. Notice that He plainly states His station and sovereignty with the words - "I have recognized none."

RE: Why do you believe in your religion

Rebuttal cont'd

jeffc,

Third, "Its all man made and just geared up to make people like me feel fear or intimidation"

That is a standard response of the weak and fearful minded. If one does not believe in the scriptural writing this response is very effective in bolstering their posture. If you don't believe then there should be no need to worry or argue about it. Do you feel the need to get you way of life out in the open? If so, you’re a type of evangelist; aren't you?

..."and hey presto we turn up in church and hand over our hard earned money."

Again you show ignorance... 1) you don't have to show up if you're not feeling the guilt of an unbeliever. 2) The ancients have always had monies whether asked for or donated or commanded by God to give - and God has in times past demanded. But when Jesus came to the earth, he became the founder of the new covenant - which many in Christendom forget - that abolished the "old covenant" of Moses; which includes a specific day for worship (as in Sunday) because all that have love for God should worship everyday and this would also include tithing. It is no longer necessary to give a tithe of 10 percent - you give what you are able to give. Many in Christendom have been bilked for sometimes life-saving perpetrated on by by charismatic minister/preachers.

"Nothing more than a glorified cult under the pretence of loving thy neighbour."

Understood, but please note that a "cult" is a union or people in agreement to live a life that is unexposed to the rest of the world - we've seen many of these types in the new of late and in recent years.

As for true Christians, the love they show is true love in imitation of their leader Jesus Christ who learned it by the way from his Father and God. For us humans on the face of this earth it is genuine love called in the Greek, Agape' which translates into the English - brotherly love, not romantic love. Read the "New Testament of the Bible and you will see the agape' love expressed by Jesus and His disciples. Educate yourself, I encourage you to open your obstinate mind let go of the stubbornness; really it won't harm you and no person has to know what you are doing to open you arms to what's true.

"I don't buy it for one second."

Fine - your choice! But in the grand scheme of God's plan, your whole life doesn't amount to one second.

"I speak from my own mind, i'm not brainwashed and i'm not afraid of living the life i want, believing what i want and loving how i want."

Yes, you do and it's your right to. However, I submit to you that you have indeed been "brainwashed" so well that you don't even recognize it - how? Having a love for self and not neighbor, disregarding the true way to live life - remember I mentioned, "live, drink and be merry for tomorrow we shall die?" It’s the mentality of people. According to the Bible (loosely paraphrased), the world and the things of and in the world are passing away - truly.

And finally, to quote you; this is what I think or your type of the religious views of the world of Christianity and your daily living philosophy.

"Utter gibberish i'm afraid."

Good fortune to you, sir...

RE: Why do you believe in your religion

jeffc, hello again,

Now there is no need to be upset. By your comment I can see that you don't really have a handle one the teachings of the Bible and it's O.K., you can always learn.

One the Bible teaches is humility; knowing your place in life - in the grand scheme of things.

Let's look at what you've stated, shall we?

"True, human beings are good and bad."

A truer statement could not be made.

"If i am bad i will say sorry and mean it. I will take responsibility for my words/actions etc. And I applaud your sincerity.

However, many will say I'm sorry or I apologize; but because they are "true human(s)" the tendency is to repeat offend wouldn't you agree? Would you agree too that some may enjoy displaying hostilities toward another and thus continue with their bad way and with a false sense of pride or superiority, never chose to stop?

"I will not blame it on the equally dubious notion of satan."

You are in the minority when it comes to the recognition of the evil one, the deceiver and slanderer Satan, the Devil. Why is their is so much wrong, hurt, pain disdain for fellow man? It comes from somewhere or do you think it to be a grand conspiracy to support your "dubious" (doubting Thomas) stance? Do not you be fooled, make no mistake there are things going on all around that people are literally blind to. Yes, Satan lives for now but if he does not exist in your mind or life, why are so many books and movies made about him? Why do the "people" of the world desire to him instead of a much higher being?

"All too often religious types use blame as a way of not getting punished for the crimes they commit both to themselves and others. He made me do it. She forced me into it etc. Its all blame and not taking responsibility for ones actions."

jeffc, the only ones that use the "blame game" are the one falsely claiming to have a love of goodness - indeed, God. They are the ones that are out for themselves; to seize what does not belong to them and really do not have a Godly bone in them.

The people that claim to honestly love God and believe that He is aware of their life's doings will never blame another to escape punishment because God's Word has told all what happens to deceivers.

"How can you seriously believe that a book was written by God or through God or whatever?

First, a valid question. I believe because I am aware that the Creator of all things seen and unseen (reference to the spirit life) cannot and will not lie - he is the example for the Christ and the followers of the Christ, Jesus.

Second, you are not aware of the archeological findings of sites and document that have proved Biblical passages as to their existence. Do you get National Geographic - although it's scientific in nature - using a "scientist" eye, biblical scholars are invited to review findings at the dig sites.

Don't understand why, but O.K., you must be one of those hit and runner's...

You love those quotes do you? Enough to live by them?

Your choice - "head-on!"

I on the other hand shall not be set up for useless argument presentations from a lost soul for I believe you are afraid of the truth of God and deliberately seek misinformation to live by that's what happens to a worshiper of man.

If you're happy and it's the way for you - O.K.

Lates grin

RE: Why do you believe in your religion

You and I don't have the kind of time it would take to give not my point of view but that of God according to His Word...

Do you believe in God - if not why?

If the article "Violence and the Biblical God" that has put you off believing in Him then I say to you study, search and research.

Killing? Basically, if you are the owner of any object or created thing wouldn't you think that you may do as you need to in order to serve a purpose?

Think man! God is Almighty, and as His creation we are obligated to obey Him and to learn of His will and purpose. God does everything for a reason - or do you believe he hasn't the legal right?

Recall that man's disobedience began in Paradise, the Garden of Eden - God's creation and possession. Therefore, isn't it logical that he being in control may (righteously) punish the outright disobedient?

The wars of the ancients of the Bible were fought for a reason; it was to fulfill the desires of God. He is the sanctioning body - he alone.

Let's face it; yes you wouldn’t kill off your offspring because you love them, right? But then what higher purpose to fulfill do you have in life?

Your job as a parent as with the ancient parents is to teach them the ways of God - all his righteous ways because it is beneficial for them and you as a parent.

So the "killing" of the non-believers was necessary and as non-believers, they did not enjoy the protection of God. They were too busy worshiping the teraphim or at the unholy sites of worship that involved sacred totems.

The article that you've reference is (to me) a reference work of demonism... anyone having respect and love for God would not challenge (the way this article has concerning) God's authority. We are His creation not the other way around.

Also, I can see in the sub-headings article that the answer to much of the "ill will" toward man is already given.

I don't believe I want to get into this material. It seems to me that it was generated only to bolster the obvious hatred toward God...

It's not that I can't answer many of the questions, for I believe I can. It's just the way it is presented that I personally find offensive.

But before I sign off, let's look at Abraham.

God desired men (and women) to be loyal to Him alone. So, Abraham was loyalty was tested. But Abraham did as God asked, without question. Did you happen to notice that his son was also obedient? He was not harmed.

Did not Jesus obey his God and Father obediently offering himself a living sacrifice for the redemption of mankind? Now, do you really think that God wanted to have his only begotten son put to death?

He was raised from death by God Almighty - and by the way, Jesus is the only one every to be raised from death by God; everyone else will be resurrected by the Christ via God given authority and power during the resurrection.

The plagues of Egypt were necessary. They were a cause for the stubborn pharaoh who considered himself a god to realize that there exists a God much more powerful than pharaoh himself and the killing off of the first born is another forerunner of the sacrifice of God's first born.

Does God really want to destroy us (mankind)? The answer is NO! If that were so, why would Jesus have to suffer for the sins of man and die?

God gave his son in order that everyone believing in him may have everlasting life.

Glancing over the material again...

No, friend if you support any of the moronic material in that article, you've been deceived. And if you believe that there's evil in the world, please note that you've stumble onto it. You must get away from that kind of questioning gain the knowledge of God and of His Son, the Christ.

The bottom line is this: You must love your God with all your heart, mind and soul - that is, all your being. Why would we think or assume we have the right to question God and his purposes.

Sadly, I find many on the polls and blog very intelligent, so much so that the wind up fooling themselves.

Live, drink and be merry for tomorrow we shall all die...

Sheesh, what a mentallity! But it is the world we live in now, isn't it?

RE: Why do you believe in your religion

Ms "KillaKitty64,

If you really were taught what the Word speaks to all, you would have understood that only man gave us the fear of fire and brimstone in their misguided and misunderstood belief that it is what God want to do to the wicked. No, nowhere in the Word of God is there a teaching of a hell. The Bible teaches that the common grave of mankind is the burial ground and it is know as hades and sheol or the word used loosly, hell.

I would view your pleasure of Wicca is due to all the hocus pocus and paganistic rituals - that call to the demons really of this word. I do understand that many that practice Wicca believe they do good and are pleasing not one god but many, just like the ancients - the ones that God disapprove of.

The teaching of God brought forth by God are the oldest belief system of man - before the "scattering of man on the face of the planet from Babylon and it dismisses of course man's own beliefs that have splintered off over the centuries - a little of this and a little of that - thus giving birth to the things that do not bring honor to God. So, again, the polytheistic beliefs and ideas did not originate with God but indeed with man and what he thinks God is and wants from Him. You'll find that type of myth story line in one of the Star Trek: Next Generation episodes about the Mintakins (sp?) an ancient precursor of the Vulcans.

If Wicca is exciting and fun to practice, more power to you, friend. Just remember that there are those of us that choose the protection of the one... just one!

"Mocker" it must give you great pleasure to distract the intelligent dialog and curiosity of others; however, you will get your comeuppance on the His day just as the Pharisees, Sadducees along with Adam and Eve and oh, yes, Judas Iscariot and many more.

By the way...

RE: Why do you believe in your religion

"bollywood,"

If I may offer a suggestion...

Never mind the cyclical never ending speeches and mindless arguments over religion. That kind of dialog is not beneficial - I don't know, maybe it is for those that enjoy fruitless arguments; they are the ones that just like to rial another up or just enjoy listening to themselves spill meaningless babble.

Yes, everyone may do, worship and believe what they want. If it is Visnu or Balial or beelzebub - the devil, that's for you own conscience to deal with. But it would behoove the witless and self important wise one to seek out the truth of God found in His Word and not that of man with his perverted and convoluted philosophies.

RE: Why do you believe in your religion

Trealach01,

Very nice...

But the forgiveness of sin can only be accomplished by death. Remember, the wages of sin is death. And the soul that is sinning, it itself will surely die. (God's words not mine)

Baptism is misleading as is the Catholic church unfortunately. Baptism is performed on those that wish to serve God as Jesus did.
Recall that Jesus was a prophet, teacher and preacher. No of us, today, are able to give or make a prophesy for Jesus was the last prophet of God.

Sadly, the church doesn't promote those activities the teaching and preaching of the good news of the Kingdom - which is the expression of God's universal sovereignty toward his creatures/creation. It's all about God's rule over His domain. Indeed it is the unification of all His creation.

Jesus commanded his followers saying:

Matthew 28:19, 20 - Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus also told his followers just how to do it. He commanded them:

Mark 6:6, 7: 12 - ...and he went round about to the villages in a circuit, teaching.

7 -  Now he summoned the twelve, and he initiated sending them out two by two,

12 - So they set out and preached in order that people might repent;

Woe to them that fail to obey the Christ, thereby failing to obey and please his Father.

RE: Why do you believe in your religion

"afterbam,"

Well said for a person that comes from an area/portion of the U.S. that was begun by religious zealots that in their opinion had and may still have a love for God.

Has it left a bad taste? I submit to you that it's only the rebellious spirit that many of us cannot contain - we allow it to blind our eyes, cloud our reasoning, in a way we hide from what is unknown. Why is it, that we don't hide from evil or evil doings? We know that evil exists. But why aren't we scared?

Indeed it (evil) has many running to their "death" (the wrong path). Really, it is just plain old denial and stubbornness that says to others, no one tells me how to live or what to do with my life; but on the contrary there is one that shows us how to live and how to live to time indefinite.

RE: Why do you believe in your religion

jeffc320,

I surely understand where you're coming from. And yes, many of us should show an equal amount of disdain for what the "white-man" has perpetrated on fellowman. But from the Biblical aspect, God's Word tells us that man will show his inhumanity towards his brother. And it (the Bible) tells us that there are outside influences that help to drive "imperfect" man to commit so many atrocities - need I say, Satan and his demons?

Yes, I believe in the evil one, the originator (father as it were) of the first lie. This badness of men is in their hearts due to imperfection and it will not change - wouldn't you agree that it has only gotten worse with the passing of time? Well, it won't get any better, for there is NO MAN living on the earth today that can harness our (human populace) woes, kissing it and making it better.

No, friend, it's not religion or the Bible that is at fault. It is how the wicked one has influenced the minds and hearts of man - those that try to interpret the Word to make it fit their belief and view. It is he (Satan) that has all of us angry, jealous, displaying our covetousness and wanting to destroy, to kill off his "brother."

Really, how could anyone blame a book of sacred writings? Put the blame where it belongs do not take the easy route by blaming God or His Word or men that wish to speak and teach the truth of the Word.

Jeff, don't be so angry and closed minded. Be at peace with yourself and your brother. Don't be fearful of claiming to love God and his intelligent creation of man and the universe.

Satan is bolstered by "Nay Sayers" and claps his hands jumping up and down with great glee only fooling himself in thinking he's winning, for he knows what God has in store for him - he is well aware of the holy writings he actually know the end result; so, what does he have to loose? His life? He gave that up when he challenged the headship and the authority of God to rule over
mankind - His creation.

RE: Why do you believe in your religion

My dear “curiousgeorge2,”

Firstly, there are many that believe in God the Creator, conversely there are many that believe in a god of some kind (just like our pagan ancient ancestor’s) and many that (like you) don’t believe in what cannot be interrogated; do you know what faith is? If you don’t have a belief system well then, I would think that’s your problem.

However, you certainly must have something you devote yourself to (other than family, video or gamming) and some would say (as myself), there’s your god – continue to give it all of your attention for in your last days on earth you will be calling out to God Almighty and if not you, your family will.

Perhaps you may deny having a love or desire for anything… I on the other hand tend to believe you’re misguided and you sir, are self deceiving. Can you, will you admit to whatever it is you focus your daily attention on AS BEING YOUR GOD?

Secondly, this is a format for talk (so to speak) is it not? Then talk I will… notice, I didn’t say preach!

If you knew anything about the Bible you would know that the Bible was authored by God and not by man. Only those that are frightened by truth would deny and declare – I don’t believe in and there is no God. Those scriptures were inspired by the Holy Spirit and given to men to record.

PROVE that the Bible is a fantastic conspiracy! Go ahead, make my day! Can you show prophecy inconsistencies? FYI, my friend, none of the 40 men and a couple of women could keep a conspiracy straight for that many centuries.

Also, PROVE that YOU are a “miracle” of some random prehistoric, pre-biotic soup that just so happened to “evolve” at the right temperature and under the right weather conditions. It takes over 200 different compounds and elements to make a human being.

Science can only produce around 20 pre-biotic materials and artificially stimulate the “goop” to give them the impression of the beginning of life.

Thirdly, if you don’t care for dialog about the Bible, either don’t read the blog or poll… or just don’t get involved.

I bid you, good day, sir.

RE: Why do you believe in your religion

rickjc25,

I do appreciate your thoroughness and matter of fact approach in giving an explanation, as to where God belongs in our history.

Right, God and State were not commingled in the fashion most people believe or want to believe. The simple fact is this: The people of repressed England wanted to worship freely, the way they wanted to.

The founding fathers were no different, each worshiped in their own way and their faith and religion had its own denomination.

Rick, Mr. Jefferson may indeed have been a deist and Mr. Jefferson indeed was an intelligent man but the Bible tells us that Satan has blinded the eyes of man - to include Mr. Jefferson.

Too, As far as Satan and Jesus' goes, Jesus was being tested, which by the way was what Satan did to Eve - wouldn't you agree that someone with bad intentions will reach out to someone innocent? But we can see in God Word (the Bible) the Son remained and remains now loyal to his Father and his God and was not going to abandon his mission on earth by sinning following Satan in his opposition to God.
As a matter of fact, Jesus had called Satan the Ruler of this world and the Creator, God is not concerned with that because (again) His Word tells gives us the outcome that has been reveled to Christ and all that follow the teaching of Christ - Woe to Mr. Jefferson and those who deny God Almighty.

Mr. Jefferson’s misunderstanding of the validity of the Creator, God and the reason for the earthly existence of Jesus (was)and is his to burden when the judgment of man arrives at the end of this world that is, system of governing by evil men and not the physical earth.

So, God does care, unrealized by the deist Mr. Jefferson, it is why Jesus came to the earth, to die for the sin(s) of mankind and where did this sin come from? From Adam and his beloved Eve; so beloved that he chose her over his Creator. All Adam had to do was remain obedient and God would have given him a new mate to live in perfection, thereby, reasonably the rest of mankind down to this day.

Their sinning against God through disobedience is what took perfection from them and from us, their offspring. Why do suppose there is so much hate and violence and other atrocities perpetrated against our fellow man? It is the god of this world Satan that foments all the wrongs of this world.

We (Christians) and the rest of the unbelieving world will see the power of God Almighty when His warrior King the Christ does His, God's bidding on this earth against Satan’s evil worldly kingdom and destroys the world evil and non-believing mankind - those who say, there is no God. Wake up people, God has place in man the desire to look for something greater than himself and a desire to live and not die but live forever.

RE: Why do you believe in your religion

Hello LucieLynn, handshake

I can appreciate your stated argument, however, there needs to be one change here and it is that God Almighty is not the God of the USA; recall in the beginning, the he created the world and everything in and on it. Therefore, he is the God of the world.

And because of that fact, the differences of opinions concerning His being and just how He is "being" and what He desires for mankind has caused views that have given way to a twisted view, indeed understanding of His will and purposes to include just how He wants man and woman (mankind) to worship Him, Honor Him and give Him the glory He deserves and expects from his "children."
