The man should always be the host. I do believe in equality, but this isn't a political issue. People should still hold on to traditional values. I was on a date last week and the guy actually said he would "spot me". That was the last date with him.
I agree you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. Although, we all know the first impression is a lasting one. When someone views your profile, that's your only chance to make a first impression.
