My fondest memories of childhood were times with My grandmother - she was my best friend growing up. She has been gone for a number of years now but I still miss her immensely.
I would hope I had the self confidence to date someone still close to their ex.
My ex (my son's father) has been diagnosed with leukemia and diabetes. He requires a great deal of medical treatment/testing and I offered to help in any way I could. He accepted as all his family lives far away. I would hope the compassion I show for my ex would not deter a man from wanting to date me.
Everyone getting along is not likely to happen Paul with this many personalities in one place. I agree it tests ones patience and tolerance but what's the alternative?
OR stay, stand your ground and ignore the accusers. Just the fact that they would accuse someone as sweet as catwm should tell you something about them.
From a woman's perspective - I would say follow through with your plan to meet her. You already know you like her. If you don't meet her, you will always wonder. Worry about the "how to make it work" part when it becomes an issue. And if there is no chemistry, you have made a new friend.
I recently read this and I think this could apply to each and every one of us.
Listening is by far the most important of all communications skills.
It does not come naturally to most people, so we need to work hard at it; to stop ourselves 'jumping in' and giving our opinions.
Mostly, people don't listen - they just take turns to speak - we all tend to be more interested in announcing our own views and experiences than really listening and understanding others.
This is ironinic since we all like to be listened to and understood. Covey says rightly that when we are understood we feel affirmed and validated.
He coined the expression: ‘Seek first to understand, and then to be understood’, which serves as a constant reminder for the need to listen to the other person before you can expect them to listen to you.

RE: Free the Emoticons.
OK I have a fair question to those who love to use them. When something is funny, why is this, , not enough? Even a really funny might require this, .
But for the life of me don't understand 25 of them. Followed by 19 dancing bananas and 22 cheerleaders.
Just curious!
