Ahem Witty is there gonna be enough room in car with you and them two mad Derry women ....I can't wait to meet the gang
Orla you have to come to Drogheda and benefit from one of the Derry drinking therapy sessions ....it mightn't cure you but it will take your mind of things for a while
haha - firstly feminism isnt equality - we women are strong enough we just need a level playing field - we can easily compete with men we dont need to hate men or be given an advantage.
secondly Witty - where are you now - drink needed now
Good god nooooooo - it is just that in this area the male workforce have been hit so hard in recent times with the fall of the building trade (as it has everywhere else) and the females are statistically the main wage earners in our Council area - many families depend on this income.
Im an equality officer and in no way a feminist lol
Just had one elected member on phone to me ....they didnt realise (or so they say) that unions weren't involved in meaningful consultation - indicated that their party would be recommending that this process is halted until this takes place - result!!!!!!!!
Sometimes it pays to get the staff stirred up - a union is only as strong as its members
Hiya Skinny - this is just the first phase - its gonna cascade down to every level - although the big lads will all be looked after
It makes my blood boil cos the main losers will all be low-paid females - Im not a feminist but this is so typical that people who are already struggling get to struggle a bit more.
Hiya GG - you are so right - its coming up to election time here in May and our esteemed members believe the ratepayers will be delighted with the new streamlined Council - another tick for them.....what the ratepayers dont know is that this exercise has never been costed or factored into the rates estimates so the impact of all the voluntary redundancies etc has yet to be recognised ....rumour has it the first senior officer to jump is costing Council £300,000-00 - the first of many - Gonna end up costing the ratepayers £millions - they are so good at getting their half of the story out there
It doesnt directly affect me but the seven secretaries all got letter on Saturday to say their jobs would be reduced and they would all have to compete for the 3 posts - as Union representative Im just gutted for my colleagues
Keep one ..change one round - Part 4
much better
