A year or so ago, I traveled four hours to Guatemala City to stay with someone I had met online. She lived with her mother and grandmother. I didn't really think about what a bad idea it was until after I got there. In hindsight, I could have spent $10 or $15 on a hotel room and the situation would have been a lot more comfortable. (Hotels are not expensive here). Obviously, a hotel in RI will be more, but if the guy can't spend that, he is not serious about you and/or is not right for you. As for not having a car, I disagree with others on this. A lot of successful people choose not to drive, especially if they live in NYC or somewhere else where parking is a nightmare. But, in this case, he has to be prepared to rent a car or use taxis in your area. Any guy that expects his woman to be his personal driver is not worth messing with.
Probably anyone who spends a lot of time on this site thinks it's worthwhile, even if it doesn't lead to meeting someone. I spend a lot of time doing other things that are not productive. Just be careful. Protect your heart and your wallet. There are a lot of bad people who have no respect for themselves, much less others.
I won't date a smoker for several reasons: 1. The smoke bothers me. 2. The smoke taste in her mouth bothers me even more. 3. When we go out, we will have to sit in the smoking area or she will get up from the table every few minutes to smoke outside. 4. She is going to have increased risk of health problems later in life (yes, I am thinking long-term here)
This is just off the top of my head. I will probably come up with more later.
When someone doesn't put a foto in her profile, I am not the least bit interested. What reason would you have for not doing this. If you are online, you are already using a computer. And how hard is it to buy (or borrow) a digital camera? Seriously, ladies.
