About this poem:
Questioning one's sexuality is a painful, confusing experience, especially if you realize you aren't what you thought you'd be. Every time I thought "could I be a lesbian?", I'd get this tightness in my chest and feel like I might pass out due to the stress of it. (the "boom boom boom" parts kinda represent the quickening of a heartbeat during an anxiety attack) But I finally came out about all this, and it was liberating (hence the last line). That "sick" feeling almost completely went away, and for the first time in months, I felt at peace with myself.
