Dream Giver

I've been forced to wear
an emotional mask
To experience the pain
of the at hand task.
My dreams were the ones
that gave me away
For I could only wear it
during the day
I did this only
to hide the pain
That lurks beneath the surface
of the reality plain
I only wished
the woulds to heal
To start anew
with my angel.
To know I still cared
it hurt him so bad
For a selfish man
who made me so sad
The sobs and cries emerged
with his sleeping wife's tears
And with Victorious strife
he conquered his fears
Let me go
Dream Giver, please.
And let me sleep,
and dream with ease.

About this poem:
I wrote this poem 2 years ago. My ex husband and I were living in West Virginia. The man I was with before him got out of prison and I was so confused, lost even, about what I should do. This poem still hurts to read. Hope you all enjoyed it. :-)
