like a thief who has to hide,
fearing lest he be discovered,
feelings of a secret lover...
push them back! keep them away,
in all you do and all you say,

as convicts craving to be free,
so also the feelings inside of me,
barred and chained, they struggle on,
theyre still with me, they havent gone...
but push them back! keep them away,
in all you do and all you say,

About this poem:
hi! im a wantabe songwriter. i have over 1000 completed sets of lyrics, but only have tunes for 85 actual songs. i taught myself how to play guitar by ear, cant read music. this is one of my poems that does have a completed melody.
i wrote it a couple of years after i got married, after meeting a woman that i felt was just what i really wanted in a woman, but found her a little too late. by the time my marrige ended, she was gone. married to someone else and moved out of town. sometimes lifes little twists and turns make it really hard to navigate....
