Chasing Dreams

Stars glitter the night sky.
Out full is a blue moon.
Chirps from a cricket's cry.
A forest filled with its tune.

Up high in a tree of pine.
Hoots from an owl so wise.
Lights in the eastern skyline.
Our suns glorious rise.

The dawn of a new day.
Life starts to come awake.
A squirrel comes out to play.
Branches twirl in his wake.

Standing in a sea of trees.
He waits for what he needs.
Dreams! his heart they tease.
His demise they just feed.

Tears flow down his face.
Last nights dark emptiness.
No End! Not a trace.
Another day of loneliness.

Moving on he must seek.
He searches for that which is lost.
Years, months, a million weeks.
He strives on, caring no cost.

He just walks on endlessly.
Atop a mountains highest peak.
Over arid deserts aimlessly.
Across a rivers darkest deep.

Buried deep inside his heart.
Lies a love so rare to find.
Though i'm missing a large part.
Her Heart! For which two bind.

I'll continue along my path.
I've walked it OH so long.
I'll search till I find death.
Till I find that which I long.

About this poem:
This poem is about the journey of a man. A man seeking, love, happiness, companionship, and foreverness. Though, with his tedious journey, numerous sacrifices, he will never find the, true love, that he seeks. For, as is the DoDo, this love is just as extinct.

My Blessing

On a warm May day.
In a time since past.
My life forever changed.
How very very fast.

I was blessed, with a blessing.
A gift, from up above.
From angel's in the heavens.
To me, they gave a love.

Please read with me one moment.
For that, you may behold.
This story of a daughter.
Ti's a tale, that needs told.

Seventeen years ago it happened.
This life changing event.
My little girl came to see me.
This is how it went.

A cry filled my ears.
I rushed right over to see.
Then stared down in amazement.
To what looked up at me.

Now, at this very moment.
A new life began to start.
Plus a father, daughter bond.
One which, will never part.

I reached down and grabbed her.
Then held her in my arms.
As i stared into her beauty.
I got lost in her charm.

Her skin was that of silk.
The softest I've yet felt.
As I slowly caressed it.
My heart began to melt.

Her face bright like the sun.
Which, ever shines on me.
Eyes like that of diamonds.
The most precious I've yet to see.

Her cheeks, a red like roses.
The reddest of there kind.
A nose, so small and slender.
Yet, with beauty so divine.

I held her in my embrace.
Tightly into my shell.
I welcomed her to this earth.
Then promised to keep her well.

Here now, concludes my story.
I prey you all can see.
How deep this fathers love goes.
Plus, what my daughter means to me.

I thank you all for reading.
This tale, I needed to tell.
Behold, everyone, my daughter.
For her name, is Abigail.
