A Flower

A flowers petals
soft yet taut
uncurl from the bud
to bask in the sun

The colours enticing
especially red
the scent captivating
the nectar so sweet

The stem supporting
garnished in leaf
slender and perfect
serves only the flower

She Just Wants to Sleep

Why would she sleep
While the sun is so bright.
Why does she so want
Her days turned to night.
As much as she suffers
How could she forget
That the best of her days
Haven’t come to her yet.

She said in her sleep
She will dream about me.
As much as I tried,
I could not make her see
That we shared the same dream
And to make it come true
All that she needed
Was to see the day through.

She wants not for sleep,
I know in her heart
That she’s calling for help
As her world falls apart
And what she most wants,
Like all in despair
Is to know about love
And to know that I care.

As yet she’s not gone
But she’s hurt her self so
And they’ve taken my girl
To a place I can’t go.
So I sit by the phone
And I wait for a call
To pick up the pieces
If there’s pieces at all.

She must be so low,
Thinking I can’t forgive
But for my ardour
All she need do is live.
I wish I could tell her
That that’s not the way,
That only with me
Should she sleep through the day.

A Verse For You.

I’m compelled to write a verse for you
And do for you things that no others do.
And unlock your secrets and bring you such pleasure
And tie you and touch you and search for your treasure
And taste you and not waste a drop of your lust
And assure you such passion is never unjust.

The glint of your smile and the curve of your brow
And the flow of your hair, now I understand how
The men before me who have looked in your eyes
Have fallen for you which has been their demise.
For a woman like you is every mans dream
But so often with men they are not as they seem.

With you there’s a fire that’s burning inside
To young and to free to yet make a bride.
So I wont confine you to the rules of that life.
It’s far from my mind to make you my wife.
I want you to know that I’m not playing games,
My simple agenda is that I fuel your flames.
