For Her

Words tend to flow when I feel her near by

I see her, and I am truly inspired

Never been so consumed, cannot deny

Desires to express in script compels

Truth prevails, emotions boast ever bright

Words significant, lines a story tells

Caution cast rewards, feelings dictate write

From thought to fingers - closed to open shells

Even when most vulnerable, pen I must

Visioned consequences disregarded

Precautions ditched far, in her I shall trust

Creation on paper, heart left to be read

Each is written for her, and her alone

Truth revealed, sentiments spilled, my love’s shown

Your Eyes

Looking in your eyes, a story they tell

Secrets are dwindled, thoughts are revealed

A protective front, beauty within, protective shell.

But those eyes, limited thoughts are concealed

At times, I become lost for words when I gaze in.

Mesmerized, disoriented, butterflies, could this be true?

A body of a Goddess, a smile for a moving-picture show, uniquely soft skin

But, looking into your eyes, that’s when I knew!

There is no doubt; your kiss brings me to my knees

Your passion is the cure for certain famine

Your touch is gentle, your hug is a cure, I so need these

But, the anchor to my connection is the concupiscent messages delivered through your eyes which you beckon

Battle Cry

War

Has the first sortie been fired in anger?

Why does man of men engage, fights so quick

Never considering the noise, the clangor

Acts of war ever changing, no rubric

Innocence changed, boys to men overnight

Mothers coddle children play underground

Smoke from fulmination shields bright sunlight

War eliminates all sane, births confound

Battles fought above, below, all about

Generals bunker hid, risk soldier life/limb

His view provided by radio shout

Orders followed, moving forward w/ hymn

Question? Which side can fly victorious?

Even in celebration, all with us??
