In Time

---

I am in the dark away from hope
in the blackness I will grope
for a way out of this incessant fear
only to stand here alone in tears

I find myself protecting whats inside
only to close off everyone and hide
for fear of what I have to share
will be too much for you to bear

I've sought the love to share and give
to see years go by with us to live
but now I see the end is near
and yearn to grasp what I held dear

The confusion of your heart towards me
leaves me with doubt and uncertainty
pain and anger initiated by mistrust
being tossed on you was clearly unjust

So I say to you now, I want you with me
I have scars and demons, you see this clearly
I'm willing to slay them with your hand
but against them, alone I cannot stand

If you feel things are damaged beyond repair
I'll shed my tears, i've got plenty to spare
but I'll rebuild my heart as months go by
and the memories of us will make me smile
