Online dating ( just venting)

I love this website have met life long friends on here. But once in a while you meet some people that just discourage you from the whole dating scene. Online dating can be so difficult because you fall in love with a person who you don't really know. You just go by what they are telling you. Some things maybe true and some not. But you can only go by what they say.
I have had some experiences , empty promises, losers who just want to see naked picture, men who are just obsessed, time wasters, racist . I could go on and on. At this point I am wondering if I should just give up on online dating and just meet people in the real world. It becomes exhausting trying to decipher who is a liar who is not. ughhhh just need to vent after my last online dating experience.
