You all know I'm new here and am learning as I go. I recently changed my profile picture to a saying on a shirt I recently bought, saying "mess with this cowgirl and you'll leave here a gelding" mostly to ward off the scammers, since I was scammed twice (however, I am catching on to them) But now my profile picture was changed back to my picture and I didn't do it! Has my account been hacked?

Members want to see who they are communicating with, not write to a picture of an animal, scenery, poster or cartoon. Requiring a real photo creates accountability and adds a more 'real' feeling to the forums, blogs and site pages than looking at pages full of avatars, artwork, animals, celebrities, etc.
During scans of the site, photos that are not appropriate for the site or for primary are either cropped, moved to primary, or removed by staff. There is nothing personal about this editing process, simply an effort to maintain a uniform appearance to the site. Do some photos get missed?... sure, but we do the best we can with limited staff time.
It would be nice to have member cooperation and help to maintain this site standard.

But on a more serious note and speaking about pictures
once we upload our photo it becomes their property, even when we delete a certain picture it still floats around here... for example, in the advertised blogs I sometimes see a blog of mine wearing a picture i no longer have in my photo gallery.. which only means, when we delete them they must keep them
Maybe it's not such a big deal, but no harm in being aware of it all the same..
