You're right Galrad, five minutes to high noon. But I'm not appreciating the nice weather that I have because I'm thinking about those in Louisiana who have just gone through a CAT 5 hurricane with so much devastation left behind. Almost 500,000 without power.
There is no "we" better stock up on arms. It is you and those who think you can only resolve violence with more violence who buy firearms.
I live in North Carolina and have never thought about buying a firearm. Yet I see on the news almost every morning that a person in the surrounding area couldn't control their temper who had no experience of how to reconcile their way out of an incident has killed someone with a gun.
Your mouth can be as powerful as your gun but you need to know how to use your education and reasoning to make a difference when someone has threatened you with a gun.
Last week my son-in-law had surgery for a deviated septum in his nose. Normal procedure is to take a biopsy of what is removed from your body. Cancer was found
Without going into a lot of medical terminology yesterday my son-in-law went back to the hospital for invasive surgery. The surgeon went all the way to the skin and took a flap from turbinate and built up the septum. They also did some reconstruction. Labs said there was no more squamous carcinoma cells but there were still abnormal cells. They couldn’t cut anymore. They will know if he will needs radiation when he sees a nasal cancer doctor that is two hours from his home. He has a long road ahead to recover from the surgery he had yesterday. Since there are abnormal cells I'm worried that he will need more invasive surgery.
I normally don't do a lot of posting but I did today to try to take my mind off this horrible diagnosis. My son-in-law is the second best person I've ever known. My husband was number one.
In 1952 I was 10 years old. I don't remember how I was told that I was going to get the polio vaccine but I do remember going to the school auditorium and getting a shot in my arm. I didn't think anything of it. I guess my mother wanted to prevent me from getting polio. In that era we saw what polio did to Franklin D. Roosevelt so it made sense to do everything possible from spending your life in a wheelchair as he did.
So now we are told that we should wear a mask, keep a distance from everyone and wash our hands when we come in contact with something that someone else has touched.
Doesn't it make sense once again to do everything possible so that you don't have to be on a ventilator for weeks.
Doesn't it make sense to follow steps 1, 2 3 to keep other family members or friends safe from getting this virus.
When I wear a mask I protect 1 or more people. And each person protects 1 or more others.
I think people just don't want to be told what to do. They don't want to be bossed around so they come up with these flaky ideas that wearing a mask will cause other problems. I'm at the point if you don't want to wear a mask to protect someone else or even yourself........I DON'T CARE.
I wear a mask. The minute I walk into the house I wash my hands. I know that I will have to do this until there is a safe vaccine. The thought of that makes me cringe but I do it anyway because it is the right thing to do.
RE: Music game
I agree it's a good tune. I'm just saying the lyrics are tormenting of how the singer is feeling.Haven't we all been there.....done that at one time or another ?
