RE: Should feminist activists fight for Muslim women rights, since it effects culture of the west ?

This type of gagging and dumbing down is more prevalent than you realise, in England as well.

The English invented the WWW.

RE: Should feminist activists fight for Muslim women rights, since it effects culture of the west ?

I am Church of England and my family have been for generations. The Queen is the head of our Church and it is only recently that catholics were allowed in certain circles in England.

The English invented the WWW.

Tim Berners-Lee, a British scientist at CERN, invented the World Wide Web (WWW) in 1989. The web was originally conceived and developed to meet the demand for automatic information-sharing between scientists in universities and institutes around the world.
The first website at CERN - and in the world - was dedicated to the World Wide Web project itself and was hosted on Berners-Lee's NeXT computer. The website described the basic features of the web; how to access other people's documents and how to set up your own server. The NeXT machine - the original web server - is still at CERN. As part of the project to restore the first website, in 2013 CERN reinstated the world's first website to its original address.
On 30 April 1993 CERN put the World Wide Web software in the public domain. CERN made the next release available with an open licence, as a more sure way to maximise its dissemination. Through these actions, making the software required to run a web server freely available, along with a basic browser and a library of code, the web was allowed to flourish.

The Church of England, which I was baptised into, does have women priests, it gives a balance and they are good priests (or priestesses).

I have friend in the priesthood, and the percentage of gays is about the same as in ordinary life.

This does not make them any the less effective at their profession or calling.

RE: Hats off to immigrants

In September 1620, a merchant ship called the Mayflower set sail from Plymouth, a port on the southern coast of England. Typically, the Mayflower’s cargo was wine and dry goods, but on this trip the ship carried passengers: 102 of them, all hoping to start a new life on the other side of the Atlantic. Nearly 40 of these passengers were Protestant Separatists–they called themselves “Saints”–who hoped to establish a new church in the New World. Today, we often refer to the colonists who crossed the Atlantic on the Mayflower as “Pilgrims.”

RE: Hats off to immigrants

Well my city is Plymouth, where the origional immigrants from England siled in the Mayflower to New England in America all those years ago, my hat of to those brave men and women, the origional Americans.

Their is still a plaque in the harbour naming them allgrin
