Netiquette

Netiq? Netiquet? Netiqit? Neticket? When I first looked at the word, I was scratching my head as to how the word was pronounced.

Checked in the dictionary and this is how it is pronounced.
Netiquette : / 'ne. ti . ket /

It's a network etiquette , that is, the etiquette of cyberspace. Netiquette is a set of rules for behaving properly online.

Cyberspace has its own culture , you're liable to commit a few social blunders. You might offend people without meaning to. Or you might misunderstand what others say and take offense when it's not intended. To make matters worse, something about cyberspace makes it easy to forget that you're interacting with other real people .

Here are some rules to be followed:

Rule 1
Respect everyone online. Do not spread rumors or send hateful or harmful messages. Don't use inappropriate and offensive language.

Rule 2
Think before you type; make sure what you write cannot be misinterpreted. Use emoticons or abbreviations to convey humor, teasing, or other emotions while online.

Rule 3
Avoid spamming. Unwanted junk mail, chain letters, and jokes can be annoying and time consuming.

Rule 4
Use the KISS principle - Keep It Simple Silly. Be short and to the point in both e-mails and in chatrooms.

Rule 5
Don't type in all CAPITAL letters. This is considered shouting by the online community.

Rule 6
Don't be pest and annoy people while online. People may have work to do and can't continue to communicate with you at that particular time.

To argue or not to argue

People who crave attention can't bear the silence. It's either you join in the fun and give all the attention they want or ignore them.

THE CLEANING POEM

Dedicated to those addicted to CS. Hehehehehe....

I asked the Lord to tell me
Why my house is such a mess.
He asked if I'd been 'computering',
And I had to answer 'yes.'
He told me to get off my fanny,
And tidy up the house.
And so I started cleaning up...
The smudges off my mouse.
I wiped and shined the topside.
That really did the trick...
I was just admiring my good work.
I didn't mean to 'click.'
But click, I did, and oops - I found
A real absorbing site
That I got SO way into it...
I was into it all night.

Nothing's changed except my mouse.
It's very, very shiny.
I guess my house will stay a mess...
While I sit here on my hiney.

My friend's parents' house in Telok Intan, Perak. It's a typical Malay traditional house. When I was small I lived in this type of house. We had orchard. During fruit seasons, we just went to pluck the fruits.

The hens and the chicks were free to roam the place, clucking here and there. Sounds like Old McDonald song. With a cluck cluck here and the cluck cluck there, here a cluck there a cluck, everywhere cluck cluck cluck. banana

Photo sharing - The Historical Buildings in Malacc

I would like to share some photographs of Malacca/Melaka with all the CS members. Malacca is known as the historic state in Malaysia. In 1511, Portuguese attacked and conquered Malacca under the command of Alfonso de Albequerque.

How many of you have heard of this song? My friends and I were talking about old songs and how we could still sing and remember the lyrics.

One of my friends mentioned this very old song "I"m my own grandpa" which we have never heard of. Never knew this song existed. I searched in youtube and there it was. I loved listening to the song and laughed at the complicated relationship.

Here's the link. Hope you enjoy listening to it.

WE ALL NEED...

1. To be loved when lonely.

2. To be protected when afraid.

3. To be comforted when hurting.

4. To be fed when hungry.

5. To be taught when confused.

6. To be encouraged when down hearted.

7. To be filled when empty.

8. To be heard when angry.

9. To be found when lost.

10. To be given hope when all seems dark.

Have a nice and enjoyable weekend everyone. cheers

Double comments

Why is it everytime I comment, it comes out double? Is it that there's a time limit to type a comment? Is it that when one is slow in typing the comment, it comes out double and sometimes even triple? This is so embarassing. It discouraged me to comment on blogs.

Life of Rose Chan - Famous for her amazing act.

This part of Rose Chan's show won't go down well with certain ppl. It has some explicit descriptions of her acts. Those who feel offended by the descriptions, please pass by. This is not a porn fiction. It's a true story about a well-known striptease in the 50s and 60s era.

Once the music starts, the troupe emerges from behind the curtains, clad only in panties and a star covering each nipple. Dancing slowly to the tune of Chinese music, typically chacha and mambo rock, they strip naked the moment a voice booms "Hoi" ( Cantonese : open) over the microphone.

When Rose Chan comes on stage, she moves subtly, gently swaying in a slow dance, all by herself. As she removes one piece of clothing after another, the tempo gradually picks up. When she reaches the point of removing her brassiere, she holds back.

That is when her stagehands bring in the pythons and she dances with the snakes wrapped all around her. Next, she removes her brassiere, and dances bare-breasted. After a while, the snakes are removed.

She then approaches the people sitting nearest to the stage, who are normally the elderly big towkays (Hokkien : business owner). She takes an old man's spectacles, rubs it agains her private parts, and then gives it back to him. Some of her acts are very crude. With her legs spread wide open , she peruses her most intimate parts to :

a) stuff a banana inside

b) open the cap of a Coca Cola bottle

c) pull out a string of razor blades that was inserted in one by one

d) shoot a dart at a balloon high up

She then tells some jokes. Sometimes, she will ask a Caucasian (because she knows theya re more sporting than the shy, local guys) to go up on stage, and gets him to strip her or any of her performers. She slowly rolls down her panties bit by bit until the audience can have a peek at her pubic hair. The crowd goes hysterical and eventually she removes her panties, and dances and sways to the beat. The music then slows down and she walks around, and then off she goes backstage.

Before she died of breast cancer at the age of 62 in 1987, in an interview, she said it was all hard work. She had to practise and practise to get the acts right. Her life was not bed of roses as her name.

Next The End of Rose Chan.

Life of Rose Chan...pt4

When she went to Singapore to meet her husband who refused to accept her back, she stayed behind to become a cabaret dancer

In the cabaret, she proved herself an accomplished dancer, and was runner-up in two national championships:

As a result of her success, she was in great demand, and started dancing at as many as five cabarets at a time . In 1951 she opened her own show and toured Malaya (now Malaysia). Malaya then was ruled by the British till 1957.

In 1957 she married an Indonesian and embraced Islam. Her name was changed to Rosminah bt Abdullah. Her second marriage lasted 3 years without children. She had four failed marriages. She had 2 sons (from 3rd n 4th marriages) and 4 daughters. According to Rose Chan in an interview before she died, her eldest son and an adopted daughter disowned her.
